Great scale for accurate small measurements!
This is a great little digital scale. I make jewelry, so I have to measure in both grams and carats frequently for precious metals and gemstones. This scale is perfect, as it weighs up to 50 carats (20g) with accuracy to plus/minus 0.001g. I've found it to be very accurate, though if using the separate tray that comes with it and the TARE function, I generally do several measurements to be sure. Do ensure that you place the tray on the center of the plate, or you can get inaccurate readings. Always make sure the scale is placed on a flat supportive surface, which also helps ensure accuracy.Calibration is very easy, and this should be done before the scale is used. If you have lost the manual, I have posted the process from the user manual in the questions section since a couple of the answers were not correct for the 20g model of this scale.I noticed that some reviewers have said the scale is flimsy and easily broken. I have not found that to be the case, but I don't keep the scale itself on my workbench. Instead, I keep the scale and the included components in the original case as it is lined with form fitting foam. I then store it and my larger scale on a separate shelf unit next to my bench that does not get jarred. If you keep it in the box, you'll also have less chance of losing the tiny components that come with it along with the second calibration weight and the handy user manual!I've used the scale for several months now, and my judgment is that it is a keeper. The manual also is in good English (rather than a bad translation from another language), another bonus! The instructions are in several other languages, including French and Spanish.

Good Reliable Scale
I am very pleased with this scale. It came from the factory calibrated with a note to recheck calibration before using. I found it to be spot on using the accompanying weights to recheck the calibration. In use I found the tare function to work very well. I also found the scale to have good repeatability when momentarily removing a weight object and then placing on scale again. I’m very happy with the purchase.

Very good for the price
This is a very nice scale for the price. As others have pointed out, once zeroed (when initially turned on, or when tared), the scale will ignore changes in weight below about 5 mg. It's a design choice - questionable, perhaps, but common at this price point. Measuring at a mg level is really touchy: a breeze from your HVAC, your breath, etc., will cause measurements to change. Most people would be annoyed by a shifting zero.As long as you're aware of this, it's not a problem. Start by adding at least 5 mg, then the scale will track tiny additions from there. Or if needing a very small amount, turn it on, add the tray without re-zeroing, add the amount you need to the number on the display, and that's your target. If the measurement is critical, you can check it by dumping the tray into another container, re-zeroing, and dumpimp the material back into the tray all at once.In practice, I wouldn't use this for amounts under 10-20 mg anyway, which I think is very reasonable at this price point. My calibration weights read 10.001 and 9.999, so I didn't re-calibrate.Other reviews noted problems with auto-off. For my unit, how to enable/disable auto-off is covered accurately in the surprisingly readable manual. The scale comes with two 10 g weights for calibration. Both are required since calibration involves checking zero, mid-range, and top-of-range. Oddly, there's a spot in the body of the scale for one of them, and a spot in the box for the other. I suppose the idea is that you can use one calibration weight any time to check mid-range.The box the scale comes in, while just cardboard and open cell foam, is pretty decent, with a nice magnetic closure. It provides for decent storage at least in a reasonably clean, dry environment.
