Writing about Music: A Style Sheet
J**S
Clear, Consistent, and Concise
As a teacher of music theory and music history at the collegiate level, I reference this book constantly. It is the most comprehensive document relating to writing for music, and is extremely compatible with Turabian/Chicago style formatting and structure. This book covers 99% of the issues encountered in writing for music and citing music at a professional level. The other 1%? Just be consistent and clear, which is the overarching goal of this book.

An invaluable resource for professional musicians
An excellent resource for any practicing musician who needs to write clearly and accurately about music. The only additions that would improve this text would be more examples of complex citations. For example, citations for reprints, translations, facsimile editions, and other lengthy historical references are still not clearly enumerated.

Just the sort of thing I was looking for. ...
Just the sort of thing I was looking for. This certainly deserves it rep as the "go to" reference for this very specialized area of writing.
