A great way to hear everything in the Jeep.
This speaker is used with an Icom IC-F221 UHF mobile. While the built in front firing speaker works well, the external speaker is an exponential improvement. Strong stations have a rich warm sound. Fuzzy HT's are more intelligible and less annoying. It would be hard not to improve most any mobile's sound with an external speaker.Jeeps can be challenging for mounting locations. But hiding the wire alongside the coax was easy and this one is mounted in the rear, near the tailgate in my bobtail. Jeep Unlimited drivers might consider a different location so as not to abuse any back seat passengers.

A Good External Speaker.
This ICOM SP-24 is a good external speaker. It is not too big and not too small. It is manufactured in Japan. It costs more than many other external speakers, but it had the specifications (power, impedance) proper for my short-wave radio receiver. I listened for the sound of this speaker, solid and clear, and decided to keep it. Mazel Tov!

Works great with Uniden scanner
I bought this speaker intending to use it with an Icom R75 shortwave receiver that I ordered the same day. It turned out that the R75 would not work with the short little indoor antenna which was all I had. So I returned the radio and intended to return this speaker, but decided to try the speaker with my Uniden BCD536 scanner first. It surprised me by sounding better than the external speaker that I have been using. So the little Icom speaker is a keeper even though the shortwave radio is going back.

Decent lil speaker, price aside. It plastic, someone on here days something about it being metal. It's not. Overpriced, prolly

excellent speaker, i was looking for one
excellent speaker, i was looking for one , i could hear over the background noise in my shop, i bought several, and though they were much cheaper, NONE of them delivered this quality of good solid LOUD audio, would buy again, One complaint , wel the price seemed quite high, for what you get, its a great speaker, but i have seen many at hamfest that were performing just as good at the time, did they last , I do not know. QUALITY 5 stars , price , not so good!
