More on Coaching Archery Paperback – January 31, 2010

This is an excellent work book for the active JOAD coach. I've based my technique with the students on what I have been taught in coaching school and how I've been personally taught over the years and in most cases what I suggest to the students at practice works reasonably well. But Steve Ruis provides Level 2 and 3 coaches with plenty of "pearls of wisdom" to cover those tough correction moments when you struggle with the BEST way to shift a developing archer into a higher gear. My only complaint is a need for an index. Maybe in the next edition.

Steve Ruis has written a pair of excellent books about a much needed information resource; that of coaching archery. There is so little information about this subject and I'm happy to see that we finally have something for those interested in learning how to coach archery and even those with their coach's certifications regardless of affiliation or archery organization! Well done and an easy read! We need more books like this!

One of an excellent series of books on Coaching archery. The author offers his views and pointers to various aspects of Coaching based on some years experience. He offers each section as guidelines, often encouraging the reader to consider the advice, as all Coaches should, rather than accept it blindly, as well as encouraging the reader to respond. Some chapters appear in 'Yet More on Archery Coaching', the next book in the series presumably for the benefit of those who only read one from the series.
