My Go To Gas Can
Good quality safety can. The metal is thick and feels way more durable than the cheap plastic cans. The spring-loaded lid works well and seals tight so there’s no smell or leaks when it’s sitting in the truck. The flame arrestor is a nice safety feature too. It pours clean if you tilt it slowly, but it can be a little slower than a normal spout since it’s a safety design. Overall it feels built to last and definitely better than the plastic cans that crack over time. Would buy again.

5 Stars – Superior Quality and Easy to Handle!
I absolutely love the Eagle 5 Gallon Red Safety Gas Can! I’ve used plenty of plastic gas cans in the past, but none of them compare to this one. The build quality is top-notch – it feels solid and durable, and it’s much more stable than the plastic containers I’ve had before. I’ve noticed that it doesn’t flip over in the back of my truck, even when I’m driving on rough roads, which is a huge bonus. The spout that comes with it is fantastic – it’s easy to use, and the design makes pouring a breeze with no spills or mess. Overall, this gas can is a game-changer. It’s worth every penny for anyone who needs a reliable, high-quality fuel container. Highly recommend it!

Good Job West Virginia!
This container is as much of a piece of art as it is a fuel can. If more people, and more companies put the pride into the products they make as this company does, the world would be so much better. I’ve never purchased a fuel container in my life that excited me when my eyes first crossed it. I slowly removed it from the box, mesmerized at its perfection. I examined it thoroughly, feeling as if I had found a treasure that was in immaculate condition, straight from 1970. I immediately called my dad. He’s got to see this, he’s got to pick it up and rewind life 55 years. I can’t wait to show my friends this masterpiece. I should not be surprised. It says right on it that it’s made in West Virginia. The mountain folks of the USA built this thing to last. Good Job West Virginia. I hope you become the new, better China.

High quality, easy to use
I was really getting tired of cheap plastic gas cans that were super difficult to use. The Eagle can is a game changer. Metal, easy to open yet secure when your not using it, the spout is easy to use as well. It's the perfect shape so it won't tip over when your driving from the gas station. I bought one of those for diesel and them immediately bought another one for gas to replace my terrible plastic one. Great product.

Safety, quality and durability
These diesel and gas fuel cans are one of the best investments you’ll ever make. Stop using those junk plastic containers and by the last one you’ll ever need to purchase.

Slower pour, strong hand spring, but tremendous quality can. Replaced all my plastic containers.
This Eagle metal safety can is a significant upgrade from typical red plastic gas carriers, offering superior build quality, durability, and stability. Unlike plastic containers that are prone to tipping over, this can remains upright in the back of a vehicle, even on rough roads due to a wider footprint and lower center of gravity. Its construction and solid seals effectively prevent leaks and the escape of gas fumes during transport. Being metal, you'd think this would be a lot heavier, but it's really not. Five gallons in a container is heavy regardless, and this doesn't feel much different than my plastic containers. The pouring performance is a standout feature. The included plastic funnel allows a smooth, spill-free transfer of fuel into equipment like lawnmowers and generators. While the flow is steady and controlled, it's important to note that as a Type I safety can, it lacks a dedicated air vent. This safety design results in a slower pour compared to non-safety or Type II cans, but it is a massive improvement over the leaky and frustrating "safety nozzles" found on many plastic models. Remember to add some gas treatment if you're planning to store gas for a while. I use ethanal-free gas and a can of Sea Foam with each fill up. There are a few practical considerations. The cap's spring is intentionally strong for safety—to self-close in case of a drop or fire. It does require some hand strength to hold it open, which may be difficult for some older users to operate. Additionally, the tight-fitting funnel must be removed when the can is refilled at the gas station, which can be a minor inconvenience. I took mine off and leave it on a shelf. For those tired of those flimsy, unreliable plastic cans, this Eagle safety can is a worthwhile investment that's built to last for years. Replaced all my plastic containers with these.

Just what I needed
I just received my new metal gas can. Open the box and it was perfect No dents or dings Some customer received theirs with dents that may be related to air transport higher altitudes causing a vacuum inside the can. I'd recommend to Eagle to prop the lip open so no vacuum can be created from pressure differential in altitude changes while shipping to different locations. This is the exact same gas can that my local auto parts store sells with their name brand on it for 92.00 dollars, funnel at an extra cost of 15.00. I bought this for 58.00 dollars with the funnel delivered to my door. I've used these at my work place for many years never had any problem with this product. Well worth the money spent. Don't want another plastic gas can. They are not ment for fuel storage the black plastic cap cracks from the pressure and the plastic gas can are not vented to release pressure so the plastic can swell up and the caps cracked. Felt very unsafe. Works well for transporting fuel but best to leave empty until you need to get fuel. I bought this metal can because we just had a hole island power outage I had no gas for my generator I was worried about our food storage. My generator will run for 8 hours on 1 gallon of fuel so 5 gallon would have been a big help. This metal gas can is vented for storage and is safe to use. I read alot of the comments giving low stars you know about the funnel and the spring tension to open the lid. First off is I'll never use the funnel on the can. I'll stick the funnel in the fuel filler on my car and then slowly put the gas in simple. The springs on the lid is so the vapors can vent if the pressure gets to high in the can far better then the plastic can that can crack and leak fuel. Not recommend for kids to use I may buy one more, 10 gallons should be more then enough for an emergency. You don't want to much gas stored at home but I would believe 10 gallons should be ok.
