Is this the same as kidde model rf-sm-acdc? the kidde web site doesn't list any model rf-sm-ac.

The rf-sm-ac is the hard wired model with battery backup, the rf-sm-dc is the battery powered unit which is not hard wired.

How to make the order since i need the installation of three kidde ac hardwired wireless interconnect smoke alarms in my house on different floors?

I have one hardwired and two battery powered. I just followed the instructions and it all worked out. easy.

Can this smoke detector be used in an unheated garage? We live in an area where it gets below zero at times in the winter.
