Alba Botanica Acnedote Maximum Strength Deep Pore Wash, 6 Oz (Packaging May Vary)

Love this product. Burt’s Bees stopped selling their version with salicylic acid/bha/witch hazel and I struggled to find an alternative that worked as well until this. Cleans and reduces pore size without over drying.

I bought this after deciding that I wanted to start a new skin care regime. I've always washed my face, and used toners and makeup, but recently decided I needed to start moisturizing and discontinue to the use of very strong hydrogen peroxide cleansers in order to let my face be at it's best. I've suffered from acne for years. I am now 29 yrs old and believe a lot of it was caused by my poor knowledge of how to cleanse. I started out double cleansing with the Boscia oil cleanser and bought this as my second cleanse. I've used the alba acnedote peel mask before and liked that the ingredients in the alba line are botanical and natural. This has a very light scent that's hard to define, it's definitely not strong and maybe can be described as a bright, citrus scent. It's a thin, runny cleanser and did arrive from Amazon with some of it leaking and coating the outside but I just rinsed it and that was that. This does foam up, which I love, and does an effective job at removing makeup and oil without being harsh. It's NOT supposed to be eaten, but while washing if a bit gets on your lips which tends to happen, it tastes like citrus. Which tells me it does have a high content of botanical plant based ingredients. Of course I didn't mean to taste it but there ya go. I have it on auto delivery once per month now because it takes me about a month to use up and I'm using this as my regular cleanser now. You must needn't use a lot and sometimes too much comes out of the bottle but if you're aware before using it that can be avoided. My new go to! My face has cleared up considerably using the ordinary squalane cleanser as the first cleanse, the alba as the second, followed by the ordinary glycolic acid toner, and topped off with a bit of the ordinary moisturizing factors. I do not use a sunscreen and i know that will horrify most skincare junkies but there is a sunscreen in my foundation and I wear it everyday. I still have a long way to go with my skincare routine and perfecting it but the alba is here to stay. My face literally feels squeaky clean but not taut and dried out from harsh ingredients. I’ve been using this face wash for over a year now, and it’s easily the best clean non-toxic cleanser I’ve tried. It consistently keeps my acne under control without ever drying out my skin. Affordable salicylic acid cleanser that works well for my combination and sensitive skin. I use it because my T-zone tends to get quite oily, and it helps to clean my skin and unclog my pores.

I order this on repeat. Love this face wash. It keeps my skin clean and it feels good. Have a lovely scent to it as well.

I LOVE this stuff. Not too drying, but also dries up acne well. Just a perfect combo of it all.

Do not try using this if you have sensitive skin! I bought this thinking wow maybe I found a acne solution that'd work for my hypersensitive skin, but low and behold thats one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Only thing I've used that gave me as strong of a reaction if not worse was trying proactive including their "sensitive skin" formula product. I tried using this and my first use it felt like someone had just taken a very coarse sand paper and rubbed it allover my face, the pain from that was so intense I nearly passed out in my own bath! And within under 30 minutes after I used the product I felt my skin and it was peeling off and it felt rough and bumpy and was void of all moisture in my skin. I couldn't figure out what was going on and when i looked in my mirror my entire face looked like it'd just been chemically burnt and any slight touch sent jolts of pain everywhere and hurt so badly. So I knew I'd gotten a pretty severe chemical burn considering I had blisters allover my face and my skin was peeling like I had a bad sun burn and your skin starts peeling. I check the ingredients list and found out that 2 of the most harsh chemicals I'm allergic to were in the wash. Discovering that I was completely in shock, after all this is something made by alba Botanica one of the leading brands of all natural products and a brand I'd never heard of anyone reacting to. Why are 2 harmful chemicals in their products? I still am shocked those chemicals are in this brands products especially one for sensitive skin. And i thought about it and finally the dots started lining up, the ingredients in the proactive i tried are the same 2 chemicals found in this wash. The God send of acne management and so called magic was a very harsh factory made chemical that we people created. Its not from nature at all and its in almost every acne control product I've tried. I still ask myself this question, why is such a harsh chemical used in a so called all natural brand? Still no answer to that question and I'll end this on that note. If i could give this product negative stars than i would. I will never recommend this to anyone ever!

My favorite face wash. Gentle but very cleansing and effective. Nice smell. Does not cause irritation for me.

My skin has started getting rashes after using it for 2 days. I cannot return the product now. Probably these products don't work with the weather conditions we have in India. Pls. make a note.

At 63 years old I thought my acne would go away but that wasn't the case for me...most products out there are for teenagers with oily skin so for me they were to harsh and dried out my skin causing even more wrinkles. This product does a great job and doesn't irritate the skin. It works for me.

I am 60 years of age and have had late onset adult acne since I was 30 years old. This product Really, Really deep cleans !!! Will initially sting on open lesions and sores. Will not do so on closed acne lesions. Also useful clearing sweat and grime after strenuous, aerobic exercise or working hard in the garden. I will definitely buy again

So far I haven’t seen much improvement with my acne using this product.
