Great entry level OBD Scanner
I got this tool specifically to help bleed ABS braking systems. Since they love to hold onto air bubbles. But the tool is also useful for cars that have electronic parking brakes, as they need to be put into maintenance mode to change pads etc. The took itself gives you step by step instructions on how to do brake fluid flushes. I've used it on a Honda, Chevy and a Subaru and it's diagnosed perfectly. For the price this is a wonderful tool, greatly exceeded my expectations.

EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS - VERY EASY TO USE
EXTREMELY HAPPY. I have only used it 2 times so far but I am happy with this scanner. I have several high quality scanners and this is up there in. value and quaity. You need to be patient and not overthink things. Or maybe underthink depending on what you expect. Read the screen and don't make assumptions. Most scanners are similar but not all the same. I bought this specifically to read transmission fluid temperature. I received it yesterday and charged it up and downloaded all current updates. Today I decided to check it out and confirm it will do what I want. I plugged it in and it automaticlly started scanning the vin. Then I confirmed vin and veh info. It asked if had smart key and then automatically started scanning all systems. When done I couldn't find what I wanted and backed out of everything and went into live data. No go on what I was looking for. I was upset and ready to return it. After googling videos I realized after the inital scan There are tabs to enter into each system. I tried again and low and behold I was able to enter into the ENG/TRANS system. Gave me what I needed and more. 339 live stream tech data to access just in the ENG/TRANS system. Haven't checked all the features but I am impressed for what I have seen so far. If you do your own repairs you should get this.

DANG GOOD DEAL FOR REAL!!!
Well.....for what you get for your money, this thing is absolutely AWESOME!!!! Legit “SCAN TOOL / SCANNER” —— NOT A “CODE READER”! It is able to communicate with loads and loads of modules in most OBD2 vehicles, especially within the last 15-20 model years, which mid into late 2000s, and especially 2010 +, vehicles now have multiple multiple computer modules, and this thing does a pretty bang up job! Reads codes, clears codes, reads live data across numerous modules which really helps with diag, as well as has features available for some models that allow you to manually toggle items on/off, which is a pretty darn good deal considering cost of this feller! I will admit, that I love my Snap-On EthosPro......but I paid over $3500 for it! Considering this guy being sub $300, it is a really great deal for the capabilities it has to offer. Love the android OS, pretty much acts as a tablet with Launch software. Does have internet connectivity, and internet browser! Freaking awesome!!! Connect to either a WiFi printer, or a shared printer on a network, and print a diagnostic vehicle health report for your customer on the spot! Even better in today’s wireless / paperless world.....instead of printing, you can email the customer their diagnostic vehicle health report right from the scanner itself! Also....FREE UPDATES!!!!!!! If you work on cars, and you do NOT own a “SCAN TOOL”, you definitely cannot go wrong starting with this feller here.

Keep this in mind about Launch items purchased on Amazon
I have found some interesting information about the Launch units sold on Amazon maybe other places also. These units are a global unit technically not for sale in the US. The Launch distributor for the US doesn’t have to help you with product support. The vendor I purchased my unit from was no help with support, so you are kind of on your own. I asked the same question I posted a couple of days ago, their reply was “This device may be broken.” I thought it had a 5 year warranty. I have the CPR129E purchased in 2021 this is what I have found about how the unit works. First charge the unit to an over 30% charge state. If you tap the power button it will tell you the battery charge state. Press and hold power button for 2 to 3 seconds give it a moment then the unit starts. After the unit is running if you tap the power button the unit goes to sleep. If you hold the button down for 2 to 3 seconds you will receive a message asking if you want to “Power off”. When the unit goes to sleep when you attach the DLC cable to the vehicle it wakes up. If you “Power off “the unit it won’t wake up when you attach the DLC cable to the vehicle. Keep in mind when you put the unit to “SLEEP” the battery continues to drain which is what I think mine did. I had to plug in the DLC cable to the vehicle to get my unit to charge up, not sure why but it worked. I ordered a 40-watt USB charger, the manual calls for a 2amp USB charger. I think the battery was SOOO dead the 2-amp wall charger did not work after charging it overnight. The unit is working again so I am happy about that. Its been a pain but I hope this information helps.

Bang for your buck
The CPR 129E year model, 2023. Like I said, it is the bank for the money. It is a little expensive. But for around the house work on cars came in handy. And it was easy to set up. No problem at all. It took the down loads,,very well. And if I did not use it in two weeks or three weeks it let me know it had a new update that need to be installed. .I only have one problem. With a 2006 Toyota Camry, I could not get it to download the app for that car it just would not read it. I have not tried it on my 2014 E350 yet. But on everything else it seem to work very well. I am very pleased with it. Especially when it tell me it needs to be updated. And when I do, the update says complete ..that’s it guy. !!Take my word for it or not. I just gave it to you.

Great mid level scanner
This is a great mid level scanner. Has helped me on multiple vehicles with different issues. If you are looking for a decent scanner at a decent price then look no further than Launch. Comes with a handy bag to keep your purchase tidy

Won’t read Chrysler vehicles
Even though the description indicates that it will work on Chrysler, it would not work on my 2024 Jeep. You need a FCA subscription for it to work.

Good so far
So far I haven't had any check engine lights to test it out. So I plugged it into my brand new Toyota Tundra, planning on just maneuvering around the screens to try it out. I did the diagnostic report and oddly enough found a steering angle sensor fault. There wasn't a light on for it. I was able to reset it, just need to go back and see if it comes back or not. I used to work on cars for a living and owned a snap on Solus Edge scanner. It cost me over $3,000 and the yearly updates were a couple hundred if I remember correctly. I sold that scanner when I stopped working on cars professionally. I do all my own repairs and repairs for family so hopefully this scanner will help out with things my other scanner/code reader doesn't cover. I will update down the road once I get a little more use out of it. So far I would recommend it.
