Some believe these are the best.
I'm not a 'guitarist', nor ever claimed, but I know what good strings are supposed to sound like. And these are it. Granted, the true string player knows more about brilliance, attack, and strength of strings than anyone. But I believe these are the standards for classical guitars. I didn't realize I got the 'tie-on' type rather than 'ball end', but I made do and used my brain to get through the installation. I think I smelled smoke. I had to redo them because they slipped out of the twisty knot I had put them in. Once they were on and not coming loose, the stretching to come was. Each string, methodically, with your fingers in a certain way. I learned from another musician long ago by watching. It took a while for them to hold their note without going loose and changing its tune. But once they settled into where they're living, they sound fresh and new, with a brilliant tone and timbre. Now, I just have to play it more and take advantage of the newness. The price is mild and close to the range of everywhere else.

Very full and resonating strings
The D'Addario Pro-Arte Classical Guitar Strings have been a revelation for my playing experience. These strings deliver a crisp and vibrant sound that resonates beautifully, enhancing the tone and playability of my classical guitar. Here's why I highly recommend them: First and foremost, the sound quality of the Pro-Arte strings is exceptional. The strings produce a rich and balanced tone that brings out the true character of my guitar. Whether playing delicate melodies or powerful chords, each note is clear, articulate, and full-bodied. The strings provide excellent sustain, allowing for expressive playing and dynamic range. The construction and materials used in these strings contribute to their outstanding performance. The Pro-Arte strings feature precision-wound nylon trebles and silver-plated copper wound basses. This combination ensures optimal intonation, smooth playability, and a warm, resonant sound. The strings are consistent in their tension and response, providing a comfortable and enjoyable playing experience. Durability is a key factor when it comes to guitar strings, and the Pro-Arte strings excel in this aspect. They are crafted with high-quality materials that withstand the rigors of frequent playing, minimizing the need for constant string changes. The strings maintain their tone and playability over an extended period, allowing me to focus on my music without worrying about string longevity. String breakage is also minimal with the Pro-Arte strings. They are reliable and robust, ensuring that I can play with confidence and without the fear of sudden string failures during performances or practice sessions. In conclusion, the D'Addario Pro-Arte Classical Guitar Strings are a top-notch choice for any classical guitarist seeking exceptional sound quality, playability, and durability. Their crisp and resonant sound, along with their reliable construction, make them a standout option in the market. With these strings, I can fully express myself on the guitar, whether playing classical pieces or exploring various musical styles. I highly recommend the D'Addario Pro-Arte Classical Guitar Strings to all classical guitar players looking to elevate their playing experience and bring out the best in their instruments.

Great strings, go with high tension if you've been playing steel strings
I'm getting back into nylon string guitar. I have a cheap classical that had broken strings so decided to give these a try. If you play steel string guitar as your main instrument, go for a high tension set. They're very easy to play and if you have strength built up from steel strings, these won't present any problems. In fact, I've needed to develop a lighter touch with both hands to keep things in control. These sound great. The bass strings resonate well and the three "nylgut" strings feel good and have a sweet top end. Overall I find them to be very balanced and pleasing to the ear. I've got no issues with these, but I'm also a novice nylon string player. I've grown my right hand fingernails a bit and I'm working on my classical right hand techniques.

good strings but I got only four of the five sets I ordered
These are good strings. Unfortunately the delivery had only four of the five sets I ordered and paid for. I tried to report this through customer services, but the system made me choose endless options, none of which allowed me to type in the fact that the one set was missing. I suppose I'll just have to take the loss.

Smooth and reliable
I bought these strings as I’m helping restore a family members classical guitar. The strings are labeled making it easy to know which string you need to put on next. The sound once I put them on is very full, with a bit of a deeper sound as opposed to twangy (this may vary based on your guitar, the wood, etc.). The strings are also very easy to play on, they are smooth and can be tuned in various ways ways without breaking. Naturally the nylon E, B, & G stretch a bit more when you put them on, so have patience the first few hours as they will stretch and require more tuning than E, A, & D. All in all, they are strong strings but easy to play, neither too thick or too thin. I would purchase these again. :)
