PEBEO Setacolor Light Fabrics Paint Set, Cardboard Box of 10 Assorted 45-Milliliter Jars (075000)

These are excellent fabric paints. The colors are bright and vibrant, they can be watered down as much as desired, or used out of the bottle as-is, depending on the depth of color desired. They don't change the hand of the fabric unless several layers are placed at higher densities. I can't speak to the permanence of the colors on fabric, because I haven't washed anything more than once yet, but they did well in their first washing, and get high ratings on other sites for their permanence. Any paint on fabric will, over time, abrade in places just from ordinary wear and tear on the item, so long-term permanence depends on what's painted. I'm using them on applique quilts, but have also made some background fabric (skies) with them, now. Be aware that the colors listed might not be the colors received. When I ordered these for a class, the colors listed were titanium white, ultramarine blue, buttercup, emerald, lemon yellow, black, oriental red, vermilion, parma violet and cobalt blue. The colors I received were emerald, lemon yellow, black, parma violet, cobalt blue, moss green, fawn, fuchsia, turquoise and cardinal red. After a few internet searches, I think the difference between what colors were listed in the set and what colors I received was a change in what the manufacturer includes in the color selection for the set, now. It appears the colors listed were the old version of the set, and what I received was the new version of the set. Unfortunately, I needed four of the colors in the old version for a specific class project. Per Amazon, they will be changing the listing to reflect the colors now in the set, but as of this writing they haven't yet done so. I've no idea if their stock contains both sets or not. I'm sure I'll use all of the paints I received, on other projects, I just had to order individual bottles of the other colors I needed from another source for the class project. I've found the paints very easy to use, easy cleanup, and I could not be happier with the results on fabric. The colors mix well into other colors, also. Amazon was very gracious in resolving the issue with the receipt of different paint colors, also, which is one of the reasons I shop here.

These paints are great for painting and even dying fabrics. On their website, there are some interesting techniques you can do with them. Other fabric paints I've tried have an Irridescent quality that doesn't work for my projects. I've also found that other brands respond and dry more like and acrylic paint. The Pebeo paints act more like watercolor, but still have an opaque finish and feel like the fabric rather than an iron-on when dry. I love the colors!

Love the paints. I am a beginner fabric-painter and find these easy to use. The color variety - in combination with the lightener I also purchased - allow me to make just about any color and shade I want. Cool! I am also going to order the opaque paints now because if I make a mistake with a darker-colored transparent color, there's not way to paint over it -- because the colors are transparent, obviously. :)

Paints arrived in packing bag. Paints were loose and out of original packaging box, which was crushed. Items appeared unused, but packaging could have been better for the transit trip.

UPDATE: I received the wrong product AGAIN! This is not TRANSPARENT! I am doing some sun printing and this requires of special paint. Only Transparent paint works. This is for Light Fabric. NOT THE SAME THING! Very disappointed. Will be buying this elsewhere. NOT COOL...NOT COOL AT ALL!!! I received the wrong product. This listing is for Transparent Fabric Paint, instead I received paint for light fabrics...this isn't going to work for my projects. I gave it 3 stars because I'm sure what I received would be fine quality paint. It looked like it and the colors where very nice, but not what I ordered. I've already scheduled a replacement with amazon and hopefully I'll receive what I ordered the second time around. Thank goodness I have prime because having to go through these returns and exchanges can be so annoying. Amazon makes it a little bit easier.

I love these fabric paints so much. They are the only paints that I've found that have a watercolor effect on fabric and dry soft to the touch (other fabric paints dry stiff which is not ideal for garments). I used them on one of my daughter's favorite dresses and she's worn it a ton over the last year. I throw it in the washer and dryer just like everything else and after 40+ washes, the colors have faded a tiny bit, but it's still very beautiful. Absolutely love these paints!

I bought this as a gift. Family from overseas requested for it. She saw my painting last time and now she is getting lots of compliments painting on her clothes.

I used this product after watching a video and was not very successful with it. After I took a class on fabric painting and heliographic painting, I now know how to properly use this product. I love it! One can create so many different surface designs depending the technique used. Setacolors are versatile and a little can go a long way. I love to blend my own colors and try different ways to apply the paint. My only regret is that a white is often needed and I had to go to another dealer to get it- it was not available through Amazon. The price was the best here.
