New Ks2 Maths Textbook Year 6

My son is in year 5 at school and really enjoys maths. I bought this to go in our toilet as he likes to read in there so I thought why not educate him at the same time! He likes the book as he said it makes him think but he is also proud of the fact it is aimed at year 6 and he can complete a lot of the questions. Has three sections to each topic which sets the ground rules, lets them practice then stretches them if they feel confident with the topic. Highly recommend this book.

This book is very detailed and I do like ccp books as they are very thorough, this new one is no exception, showing what children are expected to do in the new harder tests. I like the way it is organised clearly into topics and has differentiated levels of questions for each challenge, with a recap then challenging section at the end of each section. I will also use this as a revision help with my son when he is in year 6. The only thing that may go against it is the answers to the questions are in a separate book. Which may put less confident parents off using or it's another cost to consider if buying this book on the plus side it stops child cheating. Price is very reasonable for number of questions you get. Also like the fact you can buy specific book for each age group. Year 3_6 to help your child develop their mathematical skills.

Brilliant and inexpensive. I 'support' my childs maths learning at home. I'm extremely good at maths but it is a chore to make up questions and by the time I've taken account of the paper I would use to write out questions, the time involved, and the effort to make sure the questions are at the right level, not to mention following the curriculum, these books are a no-brainer. They are inexpensive and comprehensive. I have the answer book too so I don't need to labour through them myself except when my child makes a mistake and I help them through it. We used the year 5 books last year and I'm sure I will be using year 7, if it is available, next year.
