Price check.
If youre looking for a interface this is the one you want. It's a straight plug and play. Works fantastic on every DAW I've ran it through. And it's amazing with phones. Nice clear sound. USB port is good. Though if you're gunna use it on your phone I would recommend purchasing a USB adapter that has a tip for your phone. They're like $5 on Amazon for a packet of them. It connects automatically. Haven't had any interference from outside noises. Produces clear sound the way it's meant to be heard. Works with music apps like bandlab and other generic DAWS app you may have on your phone. Though I can't blame Amazon or it's seller on price. I however find it cheaper somewhere else..after the fact. But the item itself is amazing. Worth it.

Works great with DAWs like Ableton, FL Studio, Pro Tools, and GarageBand. 🎸 Perfect for Guitarists & Vocalists – The instrument input is built for high-quality recordings with no distortion, even for electric guitars. 🔴 Sleek & Compact Design – Small enough for any desk setup but feels sturdy and well-built. 💻 Low Latency – Real-time monitoring with zero lag, so you can record smoothly without delays. A Few Things to Note: ⚠️ No MIDI Input – If you need MIDI, you’ll have to get a different model. ⚠️ Phantom Power for Condenser Mics – Works great, but remember to turn it on for certain microphones! Perfect for my needs
I started taking vocal lessons recently and bought a kind of cheapo mic from a store in town. It was working okay until a software update completely screwed up my mic settings. The mic had a voice effects option, but I never used the option, hadn't wanted it, and only bought the mic because it was decently priced and pretty much the only one my store had in stock. I didn't think it would matter. Fast forward two months and following a software update, I started my online lesson and found my instructor was completely thrown because I sounded "weird" to him. After several attempts to figure out what was wrong (I wasn't hearing it on my end), I finally had to do my lesson via cell phone and only got 15 minutes' worth of instruction. When I went back and watched the Skype video recordings of our attempts to fix whatever he was hearing, I was absolutely mortified to hear that the update had very obviously applied a random voice effect and made me sound like a cartoon. I also couldn't get the effect turned OFF. That was the event that led me to buy a much better mic and audio interface. After doing a bit of research, I settled on the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd generation interface. I can only speak to how well this works on Skype for vocal lessons, but would imagine it's just as great with instruments and recording. As this was my first audio interface, I did have to ask the company a few questions. But their customer service is superb and I was able to easily set this up and use it pretty quickly. It's been working great and--best of all--I no longer have to worry about audio issues or having my voice unexpectedly start sounding like Yogi Bear to my instructor. The price was really great as well.

Love! Solo vs 2i2
Love the SOLO, easy to use, good sound quality, use audacity which is free. functions well. the power works well with my AKG P220. clear sound quality, light weight. I narrate and I tried this and the 2i2 and I returned the 2i2 bc for my use it was the same quality. (this may be the different case for someone using it for music production).

Device came with broken/faulty USB port
EDIT: I wound up getting the Scarlet 2i2 3rd gen, and it's wonderful! Just recorded and the sound is crisp, clear and clean! When I received my unit, it was damaged. The rear USB-C port was very loose, so the device could not be powered and dectected by my computer, which is a real shame since I've heard many good things about this family of products. I understand that the gen 3 Focusrites are older and being sold as refurbished, but this isolated incident feels like an oversight in quality control. Be that as it may, because of the good faith I have in the pdcasting communnity and their insights on the products they reccomend, I may be inclined to purchase a 2i2 model for more (though not until the refund is issued)
