An inspiring and fun read with universal applicability
Lydia is clearly a natural on stage in front of large audiences, but she's also a natural born writer. You're sure to love both the snappy pace of this book as well as its message of empowerment. This is not a person for whom everything was delivered on a silver spoon and her personal stories of how she hustled, how she talked her way in after being told no and how she worked (and worked!) to achieve her own dreams are truly inspiring. While you may not be in position to hob knob with celebrities on a massive stage (I sure am not!), she takes to care to ensure that her suggestions and lessons can be implemented by anyone, anywhere and she gives you the specifics on how to do that both through her writing and through the "case studies" (written by other successful women) that are sprinkled throughout the book. One of the passages that most resonated for me was when she wrote about being disabused of the notion that by working hard and being good at her job, she was bound to be noticed and rewarded accordingly (in the way of promotions and salary increases); turns out, that's just not the case and the only one who can and will advocate for your own advancement is YOU! Of course that all makes perfect sense but it's something I needed to read (despite being 15 years in to a law career) to really absorb. It seems that so many women need "permission" to actively self-advocate, identify their dreams and have an actionable path for achieving those dreams. Well, ladies, your permission just came in the form of a bright pink and red book that I cannot recommend more highly!

Totally captivating and informative from cover to cover!
By the time I reached page six, I knew I was going to read this book far into the night. Totally captivating and informative, I could almost hear Lydia Fenet’s whack, whack, whack of the Christie’s Auction gavel bringing the influential crowd to order. You could almost hear a pin drop as all eyes turned to the podium and rivetted on the young woman who has raised multi-millions for charity. This book lays out the path to achievable success, illuminating the keys to becoming that rarest of office creatures—someone who gets along with most everyone, someone who is the subject matter expert, someone who gets the most difficult tasks completed through teamwork—all the while with a calm demeanor, and a smile on her face. Why read this particular book? For several reasons: Fenet imparts useable, practical advice to all women in today’s workforce—how to use your personal goals to land the job, how to avoid the pitfalls of office drama, how to embody essential good manners, how to become invaluable to the boss, securing your chance for promotions. Fenet highlights the importance of operating in the business world from a position of strength and confidence . . . through knowledge.

Great inspiration for navigating career and life! A terrific gift for graduates.
I read the Kindle version while on the treadmill and found myself working out longer -- much needed and appreciated -- because I was having so much fun reading that I didn't want to quit! Lydia's exploits in the corporate world and audience commanding tricks are a delight to read and useful for anyone -- male or female -- who needs to nudge his/her career, pitch a project, or make a sale. I'm more than a generation older than Lydia but still picked up a few useful sales, marketing, and networking tips. It's a wonderful gift for college students and new graduates about to enter the cold, corporate world, and for anyone out there who's got a dream and needs a spark and savvy to help get some muscle behind it.

This book will change your life!!
After reading this book, I felt empowered to pursue the dreams that had laid dormant in me for years. It will make you ask for what you deserve, connect more deeply with others and assert yourself in your household or your boardroom. I really enjoyed the Authors honesty in sharing her triumphs and struggles and her behind the curtains look and glimpses into an inspired life. Anyone can go home after work and put their sweatpants on and drink wine, it takes a truly special human to go home from work, feed her children, put them to bed and then head back out the door to raise MILLIONS for charity! Inspiring and empowering read!

Woman promoting Woman = Winner
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I watched author, Lydia Fenet, on The Today Show recently as she discussed her new book, “The Most Powerful Woman in the Room is You.” We all know that motivational books are pretty common and can get lost in the crowd. Personally, I rarely read them. But something about Ms. Fenet’s message spoke to me. Her career in a male dominated business as an auctioneer for Christie’s to her outlook on helping woman help other woman reached me on a deep level. I have been in business for over 40 years, but I thought that her powerful commentary was applicable to me TODAY as it would have been so many years ago. I immediately purchased the book from Amazon and I read it the day it arrived. It takes a lot to impress me with self-help authors, but I promise you that Lydia Fenet is a strong voice with a STRONG message. BUY THIS BOOK. I cannot speak enough to the power of the written word and especially when it’s written by an author/woman who wants to positively impact our working and personal lives today. I loved it. She has inspired me. @lydiafenet #themostpowerfulwomanintheroomisyou #bookstagram #bookclub #book #books #sageadvice #inspiring #nonfiction #read #reads #readersofinstagram #powerful #inspiring @hodaandjenna #impressive #lindaleereads2019 @simonandschuster @gallerybooks
