It's big. Like really big. Far bigger than necessary for us - a family of 8, which gives us room to share with our friends. All 6 kids can lay on their bellies on it while on grass or sand. Too big to refold to use it as the carrying bag that it's designed for. It's not machine-washable unless you want to compromise the water-proof backing. Which I do after every large picnic because it seems my children are prone to spilling lemonade on it. When I need to replace it I'll get something smaller that's machine washable - and packable.UPDATED as of 7/3/18:The company has been very responsive and has reached out to ensure my complete satisfaction. They offer a similar sized item that IS machine washable. There is no padding on this mat, but it is quite comfortable still as we usually sit on it on the grass or sand. The sand easily shakes right off of it, which is fantastic as we live in San Diego. Best of all, did I mention(!), it is machine washable! The lemonade will clean up easily as there is no cushion to asborb the spills but the ketchup can be washed right off! And it comes in a fabric with beautiful blue stripes and a handy carrying bag. I should've ordered this version in the first place! Thanks WolfWise! :-)

We love our picnic blanket! It's been so fantastic to use! We've used it for regular picnics on the grass plus on the beach & it works perfectly for both. We've also had 4 adults and 3 kids on it plus food with enough space for all. It stays dry when the grass is wet or if you're on the beach the sand shakes right off of it. I wasn't so sure it would because it's like a soft, fleece material but I've been surprised by how well that works. The top is soft & cozy but it doesn't get hot in the sun or make you feel warmer. We just give it a good shake before folding it back up and we're good to go. We actually use the carrying back that it came with so that we don't have to roll it up a certain way. Plus the bag can be worn like a backpack if needed. The blanket does have a little side pocket as well which we haven't needed but it never hurts to have a storage pocket. I've only cleaned it once and had ran it through the washer and dryer. It went through the washer well but it didn't get dry in the dryer, perhaps because of the waterproof backing, and was dripping wet when I took it out. I just placed it outside in the sun for a short while and it was totally dry so that's what I'll do anytime I need to wash it. This is the best picnic blanket we've ever owned & are so happy to have found it! I'd definitely buy it again!

So I'm 5'9" and this picnic blanket is bigger than me. It can fit 4 ot 5 in top of it. I like that it's water resistant and it is not a problem to put it on top of wet grass. Since it's double layered, it is tougher to fold than a normal single layer blanket. It stiffer than a normal cloth blanket, but that's the cost of the waterproof. There is also a specific way to fold it so that the Velcro strap is in the right place to keep it folded. After a few times folding it, it's not that complicated. I like that is is pretty soft and warm. You can even use it for an emergency blanket. It's a nice little kit to keep in your car for sitting out on the grass. Some restaurants don't have indoor seating, so we use it for spontaneous picnics.My only suggestion for improvement is that it should come with stakes to attach the corners to the ground, and a pocket to store the stakes. When there is a gust of wind, the blanket catches it and blows over like a parachute. I might sew tabs on the corners for small stakes.If you spend a lot of time outdoors, this is a great blanket for that.

Everyone needs something like this in their car. I had something similar (not the same one) that wasn't nearly as nice or as comfortable and it came in handy several times. You never know when a situation is going to come up and you are going to need something like this. I used my previous one at concerts, sleeping in the car and it also got ripped to shreds when we transported a full sized freezer from the store to my home in my srv lol.. this is much softer and prettier than the previous one and the quality is right up there. I really think that everyone needs one of these as part of a safety device in their vehicle if something should happen. it is waterproof, soft, warm, feels safe. the extra bag it comes in can go around your shoulder and also hold other things if you get stuck on the side of the road. This is never going to leave my car unless i intend it to, hopefully only for hiking the mountains in the Carolinas but i'm thankful to have it should other issues arrise.

I know dimensions are listed, but I apparently skipped over them because this was much larger than I was expecting (which I love). I take the kids on picnics often and this works out perfectly! I can set it down on wet grass and not get anyone wet when sitting on it. I imagine it would work great at the beach as well. It's fairly easy to fold back together but when in a big rush (as I often am with kids), then the carrying bag makes it super easy to just stuff in there and fold it later at home. It's our new favorite picnic blanket!

Bought to cover the inside of my sons brand new Jeep to keep 3 dogs from getting the Jeep dirty & hairy. Worked awesome!! Covered the entire backseat from headrest to floor and covered floor & up the back of the front seats. This thing is HUGE!! Durable space blanket on one side perfect for temperature comfort.Dogs LOVED also the blanket side is super soft enough to lay a baby on with an entire family 😁 it’s huge really. It also has a cloth hand for folding and carrying. Love this purchase definitely recommend. Came super fast in time for our trip.

The picnic blanket is much larger than the one I previously had. The fabric feels soft. The sponge foam is thick and durable, so that when folded, it looks larger than shown in the picture. The bottom is water and sand proof, which is the most important thing for me. I feel totally different after upgraded my blanket from a small one to this!The only thing I felt unhappy is that when I bought it about a week ago, it was $27.98. But now it is $25.98 with 10% prime discount. I hope amazon can make price match for previous order.

Lovely big picnic blanket. Did arrive dirty however. We haven't used it yet but do like the carry bag it came with so you can just pop it on your back. Would have got 5 stars if it wasn't dirty on arrival.

bought this because i wanted something to sit in the garden on and it is fab. big enough for 4 of us to sit on and it is very comfortable. I haven't washed it yet so can't comment on its durability. I like the fact that it comes with a bag to store it in too as it means that it is kept folded as sometimes mats with the velcro still come apart.

I needed a big blanket for family picnics (5 grandchildren and adults). It is very suitable for the job. Its attractive, folds fairly easily but as it's so big and I'm short this is a challenge, but worth it. Love the bag to tidy it away in and to enable handles carrying.It has wiped off chocolate spread, strawberry juice and general food mess. Its second job is for my hubby to lie on the beach without touching sand, and is perfect for this too.

I like the size - good enough for 2 adults with 2 children. I love the colouring - great combination. Also the texture of the surface is very pleasant in touch. All in all - we love it and took it with us for recent holidays at the seaside.
