History of the Arabs, Revised: 10th Edition

This is the book?! If there is a book to be read about the Arabs then this is it. It is very useful to understand the development of any race or group through their chronological history. This is the book that describes the Arabs and their Origins from Yemen, to Mid-Arabia. Then there is the Dawn of Islam and the rise of a whole nation under one man -The Prophet and Messenger of Gad-. After that it is just the rising Sun of those people and how they have carved one of the biggest greatest empire in the world. Then after every rise there is always the decline and the scavenging of others onto the Arabs. The book gives the details of how even Europe had risen after learning from the Arabs their own Greek sciences. Not only that but I consider the bulk of Science had been stolen from the Arabs due to surviving into the darkest of Histories. It is nature. The reader should read this book and dot the i's and cross the t's and enjoy the History of the world and see for themselves that how science and culture travels from one nation to another. This book will never leave my bag?

While serving with the US Army Stationed in the American Embassy, I was fortunate to complete 6SH with the University of /Maryland.. The Text was "History of the Arabs by Phillip K. Hitti Eighth Edition". It was a wonderful experience and I recommend the book to any and all. Listing some sections; The Book begins with The Rise of Islam and the Caliphal State"ARABIA THE CRADLE OF THE SEMITIC" and follows through with THE ARABS IN EUROPE: ending with THE LAST Of THE MEDIEVAL MOSLEM STATES.. Viewing the Middle East today though its hisotry generates many unanswered question yet provides enough clear information to allow some undertanding to answer many questions about the middle east today

I have to give the author credit for research and hard work. Unfortunately I was hoping that when an author writes in the title of his book "History", we will find history without personnal opinions. Every now and then when he gets a chance to misrepresent Islam he does it in a very subtle way. Writing about previous History should be far from emotional and personal feelings, otherwise call the book my view about Arabs. This was also mentioned by a previous reviewer who listed a couple of mispresentations from the Quran. I studied the Area and the Quran so I do have some background, and I would hate for anyone to get a misrepresented History of this Area and Time period from this book.

My Experience so far in reading and understanding other people's religious beliefs has increase tremendously, it i always good to be versatile so as to keep up. Very small letters, poor printing quality, very poor quality overall

I was pleased by the price of this book, but was shocked when I tried to read the contents with the Kindle Reader App on my iPad or my PC. Each page consisted of a tiny white text font on an undersized black "page" which did not fill the page. None of the font settings or color settings had any effect on what seemed to be pdf style pictures of pages. Trying to read the book as it comes across results in nothing but a severe headache. Horrible formatting - someone should be ashamed.
