BikeHand Bike Bicycle Fork Star Nut Setting Installer Install Tool with 2 Free Star Nuts - Size 1-1/8”

I purchased the Bike Hand Bicycle Fork Star Nut Setting Tool for 1-1/8 inch steerer tubes because I was upgrading my MTB forks. This is a well made & thought out tool by Bike Hand. I have purchased several tools by Bike Hand now & have been pretty impressed w/their quality, especially for the price. It’s not Park Tool quality, but it is nowhere near the prices of Park Tool either. Sure you could just put a screw in a star nut & use it to hammer the star nut into a steerer tube, but you run the risk of setting the star nut unevenly or worse yet, damaging the threads while hammering. For the home bike kit, this is one of Bike Hand’s tools I would definitely recommend. The star nut setter came w/2 star nuts. These were a definite bonus, the tool alone is worth the price. Setting a star nut w/Bike Hand’s setter is very simple & the tool sets it at the right depth needed. There is a steel tube that has an inside diameter of 1-1/8 inch on one half & is slightly narrower on the other. This provides a “ledge” that stops the tube from just sliding down the steerer tube. The star nut slides onto one end of the black plastic “plunger” of a second steel tube. This then slides into the top of the first larger tube that is already placed on the steerer tube. You use a mallet to tap down the “plunger” until it is flush w/the steel tubes & the star nut will be set to the correct depth. The video makes it look like you have to really whack the “plunger” but from my experience, if you hit it true, it does not take a lot of strength. This tool should last a long time, just don’t go bashing it. It does not take a lot of strength or power to set a star nut. For years I've been manually setting star nuts in head tubes without any setting tool. It's a pain in the butt process that easily took 15-20 minutes or more to do, with much frustration and cursing. Finally broke down and bought this tool, and now setting star nuts takes 1-2 minutes if you really, really take your time to do so. I haven't had to use it much, but when I do I'm always very happy that I have this tool for the job. It's simple and easy to use, seems to be good quality, and it makes the job so quick. If you're on the fence, just get it. You'll be happy you did- just like me. =)

works well for driving the star nut to the correct depth. gave it 4 stars, it was soaked in oil like cheap asia parts. cleaned it with alcohol and no rust so far.

Worked well set star to perfect depth

Bought this after trying to use the old cheaper style that doesn't guide the star nut in with a sleeve around the steerer tube and just relies on your skill, well using that I ended up with a nice sideways starnut in the brand new DVO fork I bought. Soo didn't want to make that mistake again and pounded the star nut down out the fork and put a new one in using this tool. It was dead simple and worked perfect. Took all the skill out of it and just hit the thing with a plastic mallet and send'er home.

Valuable tool for a new fork install. Purchased this to use one time. Well worth the cost with the tool and 2 star nuts. Was easy to use and install in a new Suntour fork. Highly recommend for occasional use. Not sure how it would stand up to every day use but it is built fairly robust.

所有しているMTBのフォークを新しいフォークに交換するにあたり、新しいフォークにスターファングルナットを圧入させる為に低価格で良さげな物が無いか探したところ、このお店のコイツが検索でヒットしたので購入してみました！ 説明動画の様にセットして、後はハンマーなんかで上からぶっ叩くだけで、楽に完璧に確実にスターファングルナットを圧入出来ました♪^_^ 自分も動画の様に所有していたメンテナンススタンドを使ってフォークを固定しました。 メンテナンススタンドではなくても、フォークを安全且つ確実に固定出来る物があったら良いかも知れません( ^ω^) 低価格の割に、軽くてコンパクトでしっかりした造りで使ってみて良かったです♡良い買い物しました♪ ⚠追記⚠ こういった専用工具はそんな頻繁に使わないと思いますが、自分の愛車を自分の手で何から何までやっている方、またはやってみたい方は1つは持っておきたい物の1つだと思います♪

This worked like a charm. Great cheap alternative to the Park Tools.
