Great Machine!
I LOVE my new Braun Food Processor! I recommended this processor to a friend, based on the great performance of the Braun processor I had already owned that looks similar. I then put this model in my own cart, and "saved for later" until I was ready to give up my original Braun processor. I have had my original Braun food processor for 30 yrs and it is still going strong. I've been so happy with it's performance over the years, but wanted to hand it down to my daughter. So, I bought myself this new FP3020. I'm so happy I finally bought it as this is a powerhouse of a machine! I did shop around and consider other makers and other machines. f But, for this price point, you get more power and more machine which equals more bang for your buck. I love Braun, and I'll tell you why: 1) The motor is super quiet for a processor - much more quiet than even my old Braun. 2) It has a very large capacity, (greater than my old one by a cup and a half) And, for big jobs, a large capacity is a must. 3) The Braun machine and canister have a simple, straightforward design. So, it's easy to fill and empty. Not complicated. 4) This machine comes with more attachments and more variable speed selections than others, including my old one, too. So, the capabilities are endless. 5) The Braun motor. Nothing beats it, in my opinion. I just ground up a couple pounds of beef in about a minute! All in all, very pleased with my new processor. I'm hoping this Braun processor's motor is just as long-lived as my last one!

Best Food Processor bar none
I grew up on Braun and until about 10-15 years ago you could purchase their products all over in the U.S. They were a staple in all the old TV food shows including Julia Child's program. Then P&G put the brakes on it and now only the shaver line is available in the States. The Braun household product line is now manufactured by DeLonghi in China and East European countries primarely for European purchase. Now Braun coffee makers made in China and this item can be bought on Amazon.com. I am glad that Amazon included this machine in their offerings. Thankfully there are only minor quality issues compared to the proven Made in Germany items. This is the best machine, it does everything one can ask for. I love that the bowl is sealed unlike competitors' products. It's easy to clean and comes with a myriad of accessories. It comes with a variable speed selector, which is a huge benefit, it's easy to operate, it's quiet and not super heavy. I am so glad I don't have to operate my 220V machine with the step down transformer anymore. Thanks Amazon.

Wonderful so far
I got this to replace a small (3.5 cup) KitchenAid that's still going strong but is way too small for a lot of things I want to use it for. I did a lot of research before buying this and have used it almost daily in the last few months for a variety of tasks. What I like the best: -The low profile design and lighter base means I can easily stash this on a bottom shelf without aggravating my bursitis. I was a little concerned that the lighter weight would mean the motor didn't have enough giddyup, but it's great. I love, love the size compared to similar capacity models. -The variable speed really does make a difference in processing different foods well. When I first saw this model I thought it was unnecessary, but now I'm sold. -The disk blades snap into a single plastic disk, so I don't have to store six metal disks. And it comes with a blade guard for the standard S blade-- this is the only brand I saw that had that. -The arrows make it easy to align all the parts. -It's easy to switch parts/blades as you go. I used it for 8 ingredients for one recipe and was able to keep working at a good clip. -It does beautifully on these foods (I'm forgetting a bunch I know but this gives the idea): ---Tomatoes and onions-- chopped evenly without almost any juice! ---Cucumbers and potatoes-- Nice even slices ---Cheeses-- can handle hard and soft cheeses thanks to variable speed ---Garlic and herbs-- smaller chopper does these very well. Quick and even. ---Pie crust. I used the pastry attachment to make an all-butter dough for individual pastries, and they turned out beautifully at the recommended speed-- the pastry was very flaky and held its pinwheel shape. Downsides: -At first I had trouble getting hard nuts (e.g. almonds) to a consistent size using the smaller chopper without basically turning them into dust. I did have better luck when I made sure to follow the max amount recommended (I think it's 50 g), and I've found that slightly softer nuts (e.g. pecans) are easier to get to a uniform consistency. -I love margaritas and had some hopes for the juicer despite seeing a video review saying it was mediocre. I rolled the limes beforehand and tried various things but was worried that sufficient pressure would burn out the motor, so I gave up and got a manual juicer that works like a garlic press. Not a big deal because it's not why I bought the machine. -As noted in other reviews, the instruction manual leaves a bit to be desired. Mine came with a very small (3" x .5") sticker with barely visible pictures of different foods and speeds, which is needed for some things they left out of the manual. It's helpful but I can barely see some of the items with my glasses on. Final notes: Another reviewer said that the box said parts are dishwasher safe whereas manual said to hand wash them. Both the box and manual I received say all parts are dishwasher safe. Also, I noticed that several reviewers had problems with the processor jumping around the counter. I haven't had that problem at all, though I did with my old one.

QUALITY... all the way. Highly recommend
I've had this food processor for almost a year now. It's the 5th food processor I've ever used. The first one, was a Braun I inherited from my mom. It was awesome, but she had had it for years, so it was on it's last leg by the time I got it, and died not long after. In my search for a replacement, I bought several different units after that, and they were all JUNK. I won't name the brands - I don't want to embarrass the makers. I gave them away. After that I decided to go with this new Braun, and so glad I did. Here's why I love it. Pros: 1) It's very well made. It's substantial. The bowl and lid feel like a better, thicker quality plastic than the others I had bought. 2) It's super easy to assemble for use then disassemble afterward. Way easier than the others I had bought. 3) A snap to clean. 4) Came with every blade I needed, and then some. 5) The feed chute is a nice size so you can feed larger pieces. 6) It's amazingly quiet. When I started it for the first time, I thought it wasn't working - it's quiet. Con: It's a little bigger than average unit, so it takes up a more space. I have a walk in pantry where I keep all my appliances, so I knew when I bought it, it wouldn't be an issue for me.

Powerful machine to handle kitchen jobs
I love that this machine has different speeds (power levels) so that you can prevent over processing of delicate foods. My previous food processor, and I suspect most machines, had exactly one speed. I also love that it came with many accessories included: multiple blades for slicing, shredding, grating, dough hook, whipping blade, etc, PLUS the small shopping bowl and the citrus juicer. The only thing I had to purchase separately was the thick slicing blade, which was pretty inexpensive through amazon prime. This machine is powerful enough for my needs so far. It has accomplished everything I've thrown at it easily. I have not used it for really tough jobs that did my other food processor in (like chopping sticky dates) yet though. It seems kind of loud, which doesn't bother me personally, although some people might dislike that. I've read other reviews that said the machine bounced around a lot. I do notice heavy vibration of course, but mine does not move around on the counter. It does have rubber grip feet on the bottom which helps. The booklet does not describe specifically what the warranty covers, so if the warranty is an important selling point for you, try checking the manufacturer website for more detailed warranty information. The reasons I gave this machine four stars instead of five are: a) it takes up a lot of room on my cupboard, I have to turn it sideways to fit it on the shelf; and b) it is rather loud, and c) why would they include every accessory except one?

Superior to any others we tried, including $$$ Magimix.
Replacing an old KitchenAid food processor that finally died, we first tried the Cuisinart DLC something, which felt cheap, rattled and was loud. Next up was the $$$ Magimix 3200 which was touted as the best of the best -- nope. It also had some poor-fitting parts (including the shutting mechanism, which felt cheap and like the tab would break off in the not-too-distant future) and made a loud something-might-be-breaking sound. So we tried this Braun as a last resort. It definitely won't win any beauty awards, but this thing eclipses the other two by far. It's incredibly quiet, super easy to use, everything fits firmly and perfectly, and it's powerful. There's nothing more you could want from a food processor with all of the attachments it comes with, and while it was annoying to have go through two cheaply made though expensive processors to get to a good one, in the end it was worth it as we got the best of the bunch. This feels far more professional than the "professionally"-priced Magimix does. HIGHLY recommended. It ain't pretty but the performance and ease of use beats any other food processor I've owned or tried. Apparently it's not being made anymore which is why it's now so cheap, but my experience with other Braun products in the past is that they last, so I'm not worried.

Great Food Processor! Love It!
This is awesome! It is very quiet, and well built. I like that the motor is in a tower. It helps to keep it cool, and provides something to hold on to when I am cutting difficult items. I have made almond butter several times now, and it works very well. Also, I have cut up acorn squash several times. It goes very quickly. Much faster and quieter than our old unit! It has a large number of blades, for whatever cutting needs you might have. I saw another food processor that had built-in side scrapers. That would be nice when I am making almond butter, but it is not enough to take a star off. The only negative I saw was when I cut carrots and sweet potatoes with the slicer/grater. The orange juice stained the white blade holder a bit, so now it is somewhat orange. So, be aware that colorful foods may cause some staining of the white bits of the food processor. Everything is sealed up nicely, and cleaning is pretty easy. I have used food processors int he past where clean-up was very difficult, because of all the nooks and crannies that had to be cleaned. This processor does not have that issue.

way better than my ancient and crappy Cuisinart food processor
Wow! So much better than the food processor it replaced!!! I had a crappy Cuisinart food processor for years. It had two options: on or off. The bowl was kind of dishwasher safe, but the handle accumulated small particles when you put it in the dishwasher and there was no way to clean out the handle, so it grew increasingly disgusting over the years. Eventually, the parts started breaking. The shredder disc separated from the shaft that turned it. The bowl chipped. The lid of the bowl chipped. And then the bowl chipped again, making it so the food processor wouldn't seal, so food would fly everywhere (that's when I decided to replace it). Add to the poor quality the very heavy base of the device and the fact that if you processed anything that filled the bowl just about half way up, any liquid in the bowl would leak (this happened every time I shredded zucchini), and I basically spent 10 years torturing myself. With this Braun food processor, I'm in paradise! The bowl and parts are all dishwasher safe, and don't accumulate small particles from the dishwasher anywhere. The base isn't crazy heavy. The bowl doesn't leak, no matter how full you fill it. And the fact that I can change the processor speed to whatever I want is unbelievably useful. I doubt I'll ever use all the attachments that it came with, but I have already used the shredder and chopper attachments and it was way better than my old food processor. I could see clearly what I was doing and the end result was exactly what I wanted. Clean up was a cinch! This food processor may be expensive, but it's kind of like upgrading from a 1980s Ford station wagon to a highly reliable, sleek, and well-designed BMW. Once you've driven this Braun, you'll never want to drive another food processor again. Seriously. It's that much better than the other food processors on the market. Buy it. It's worth it!
