Cotton and Acrylic Soft Blanket, Cashmere Softness, Imported From Portugal (Throw, Cream)

I am the pickiest when it comes to blankets. I want soft as hell, no wrinkles, easy to wash, and NO pills (as pills totally freak me out and send my OCD into a tailspin). This blanket is the holy grail of blankets; i bow down to its maker! ONLY downside is that you are limited to white or cream....wish im sure my dogs will change to a much earthier, unappealing color in time....but it's still so worth it!

I was really looking forward to getting this blanket because my sister has one and I love it. When I received it I put it on the bed and it looked great, even and smooth edges all the way around. I decided to wash it since its in the guest bedroom and I was expecting guests that would stay a while.I carefully followed the laundry directions (cold water gentle setting) and dried it on the lowest (delicate) heat setting. Just in case I took it out before it was totally dry (still a little damp) and laid it out on the bed to finish drying. I wanted to avoid any possible shrinkage.That was when I noticed the edging on 2 of the sides (on opposite sides from each other) were wavy and the edging seems to have shrunk and pulled the blanket material. The other 2 sides (opposite to each other) were perfectly straight and looked good like they should. How can 2 sides be OK and 2 sides shrink on the same blanket in the same wash? I can only conclude that it was made defective on the 2 sides where the edging shrank.Now I can't use the blanket by itself as a top blanket because the wavy edges look bad and it looks like a cheap blanket. I could have paid a lot less for a blanket with straight edges. For the premium price I paid for this blanket I should have gotten one that was better made and didn't have the shrinking edging problem.UPDATE:I contacted the seller (through Amazon) and they said they've never had a problem before and offered an undisclosed amount of partial refund but I have to download an unknown software program onto my computer to find out what that amount is. Really? - What ever happened to taking care of the customer? Sounds like they just want to make it difficult for me to get my money back.By the way I have submitted this review 5 times now and it never shows up. What's that all about?

I Love this blanket!!! I have a queen size bed. About 10 Years ago I bought this blanket in a queen size at JCPenneys. Well in the morning I would go to make the bed, I would have to retuck it in at the foot of the bed. So after a couple of years of the re-tucking. I thought I would put the queen size blanket on the double bed in the spare bedroom and I would go to Pennys to get a king size blanket for my bed. Well Penney didn't sell them any more. So I bought a king size fleece blanket. I was always unhappy with that blanket. . We like our bedroom a little cooler (cold) so we don't heat that room. I kept going back to Penneys to see if they were carrying that blanket and they weren't. I very rarely go on this web site, but thought I would try to see if you had it and AMAZINGLY you did!!! I ordered it right away. I LOVE IT , IT IS THE WARMEST BLANKET I HAVE HAD! We live in the northeast and winters can be very cold. This blanket keeps you warm!!! ( by the way) Being that I have a queen size bed and the blanket is a king size it hangs down off the bed more than I like But I love this blanket so much that I dont mind that it does hang over like that!

I own 2 of these blankets and LOVE them. They are very warm, hold up well and wash great. I keep one on our sofa and one in the car to use for sporting events when the weather is cold. Decided to order one at Christmas as a gift. Ordered the wrong color and contacted customer service regarding exchanging for a different color. They responded right away wanting to know which color I was interested in. After receiving my reply they told they would check to see if they had that color in stock and let me know. That was the last I have heard from them. As of January 7, 2014 I am still waiting for them to let me know. The person who received the gift got tired of waiting and decided to just keep the blanket even though it was not the desired color. They loved the blanket. If you can find it available at another vendor I would try ordering from them.

Good winter weight, the acrylic and cotton combination is so soft. I purchased a queen size one last year and love it for winter.

It's nice and soft, has sturdy binding (not satin) that should outlast the blanket. It's medium weight, fairly thick, and nice and warm. It has a nice cushy hand-feel.It sheds a LOT of lint when it's new, even after washing. My dark sheets look like they have a heavy dusting of snow on them. I've only washed it once so far, so I hope after a few more washings this will stop.I don't think it shrank significantly when washed. Hard to tell, as I have an underbed drawer, so a twin blanket is too big for my purposes - it hangs down well past the top of the drawer unless I offset it toward the other side, and that makes it hard to judge any change in the dimensions.

You can see the quality in the workmanship of these blankets. So glad I purchased.

We are switching to a king-size bed after years and years. I have a Downtown blanket on our queen-size bed and it is the best blanket I've ever had. Soft and warm without producing pills (those little round pieces of thread). With a sewn rather than satin edge, the satin doesn't unravel eventually.I don't remember where I bought the blanket years ago, but I was so excited to find out it still had a legible tag that told me it was a Downtown blanket of cotton and acrylic. My older ten-year-old blanket will go on the guest bed, almost as good as new, and the new king-size blanket will be on the new bed. I'm so glad Amazon has them. The price is absolutely worth it.
