Der-Franz Crema organic Coffee, whole bean, 1000 g

I've been enjoying Der-Franz Crema Organic Coffee for over a year now, and I finally decided it's time to share my thoughts. From the first bag to now, this coffee has consistently impressed me. The beans smell incredibly fresh every time I open a new bag, and their appearance confirms their quality. Brewing this coffee with my De'Longhi bean-to-cup machine is always a delight. The resulting coffee is smooth, with a rich, golden crema that pairs perfectly with steamed milk, creating a beautifully balanced cup. I recently saw this brand for the first time and ordered a bag to see what it was like. One bag fills three and a bit Illy tins but at half the price. It is punching well above it's taste weight pricewise, and is a great morning coffee or through-the-day pick-me-up. It is strong but not overwhelming, is really smooth and has no hint of tangy bitterness, and when you take a slurp it makes you look at the cup and think "wow, that is a nicely balanced coffee". I can be a bit arsey with my coffee, a mixture of snobbery and flavour, so my curiosity has certainly paid off. Needless to say, I just ordered a load more.

This coffee is smooth really good taste. You really have to figure out as with all coffee beans how much to use for say 4 cups. I used too many beans...but i would say that i used Hornig beans before this one and i must say that i prefer this coffee bean as you do not have to use as many beans as with Hornig. Hornig is £16 and this one is £12 which i am really pleased with. I have a little honey just wrapped around the spoon to taste a little sweetness. My husband said it is sweeter even without the honey. So overall this is a good coffee. The one thing i wished is that the closure of the top of the bag is not ideal. No little label for me to secure the bag and stick. But i will find a container to put Beans in i think as it is a big bag to store. Hard to know where in the kitchen.

I've never written about coffee before so here goes. I've been using standard Sainsbury's 500g coffee for quite some time but I started to notice ages ago that it was incredibly bitter and acidic. After a couple of cups in the morning it would just sit quite heavily in the stomach. The caffeine hit would wear off and leave me feeling groggy. I've tried some of the expensive Italian brands and they were also very acidic and bitter. They didn't seem worth the money. Having read recently about mass produced coffee and pesticide use I was determined to find an organic coffee. So, I end up buying Dr Franz Organic Creme and, boy, am I glad I did. What a pleasant cup of coffee it makes, either in cafetiere or as cappuccino or espresso. Smooth, tasty, full bodied, doesn't taste bitter or acidic. I don't get the same crash in the afternoon from drinking this. What's more, Dr Franz is brilliantly priced for what you get, and I definitely will be back for more.

Update. It used to was good not anymore. I've cancelled my subscription. Burned taste. For 19 I can buy fresh, delicious coffee beans elsewhere.

I appreciate these are good value for money for the size of the bad you get. It was just a little bitter for me though so I probably wouldn’t get again unfortunately. But taste is subjective so I wouldn’t let it put you off buying it.

Café con un tostado muy adecuado. Me gusta el aroma y el sabor, no muy intenso, incluso usando bastante café por taza. Es el café ecológico de mejor precio y buen sabor y tostado que he encontrado. No le pongo ninguna falta en este rango de precio.
