The Endless Odyssey: A Mythic Storytelling Game

I couldn't be much happier with my purchase.First off, it's a little misleading to call this a game. It's a lot more like an oracle deck. You can use it for storytelling, or as an oracle if you like, but it's not like a game in the traditional sense of the word. Sure, you can play with other people, but it's not competitive as much as it can be a collaborative storytelling passtime. I knew this prior to buying, but others may not.The cards are large and sturdy. The one minor negative is that the cards don't lay flat. This is a little annoying, but not a deal breaker, and not bad enough to lose a star.The artwork is fantastic. Really stunning. The mythic theme is perfectly realized. I would love to have an expansion deck, as there are only 20 cards. It's plenty, but I also want more. An expansion deck would be an automatic buy for me. I will likely purchase at least one more of these to use as a gift.So what do you do with the cards? The cards fit together to create a seamless panorama. You place them side by side in any number and in any order to make a scene. The scene can represent a single moment in time, or like a storyboard of a entire narrative. Using randomly drawn cards, you use your imagination to create the story from these cards. There are a few examples included in the box of how you might play with them with other people, but really they are all variations on "make a story with the cards you draw".If you are at all interested in this type of product, this one is really well presented and I recommend it highly.

The art in The Endless Odyssey is wonderful. For enthusiasts of the Greek Mysteries, this is a must-have deck of cards.It is designed for storytelling. However, this deck can easily function as a divinatory tool if combined with a Tarot, a Lenormand, or an oracle deck. The art is so compelling that the cards can also be added to altars dedicated to the Greek divinities.It pairs particularly well with the Mythic Tarot, also dedicated to the Greek pantheon, if anyone has a copy of that marvelous deck.

This is such an interesting myriorama deck!! I love the characters, the scenes and the stories that it tells as the cards are connected. This deck is perfect for anyone interested in this type of storytelling readings. Colors are bright and catch the eye in different areas of the developing scene.

I use these cards in my classroom to help students generate story ideas. It's fantastic fun and often leaves students surprised with how much they enjoy writing. The quality of the cards it top notch, though if you use them as much as I do you might want to consider lamination, just for that extra layer of protection. The art work, as with this entire series of cards, is beautiful.
