Hooks on to your pan and doesn’t slide around.
I’ve tried a couple different types of thermometers for making candy this winter and so far this is the best one. It has a slidable latch the hooks onto your pot that keeps it in place. The temperature an accurate and so far has worked well for me.

The best I’ve ever used
Absolutely the best and this Mamaw has used many others. Accurate temps, readable markings and the clip slide so to adjust to the height of pots. Really recommend this thermometer!

well made
I was surprised at the size and quality of this thermometer, it is a great value for the price. It was one of the less expensive ones but doesn't look out feel cheap at all. It very large, I took pic next to wine bottle for size recognition. My old candy thermometer was difficult to read so I bought this one. I love how easy the numbers are to read. It appears to be well made. I did not want digital due to upkeep of battery. I only use thermometer once in a great while. Might be a little tall but overall I like it.

Inaccurate, Won't stay attached to pot
I was very excited to get this thermometer. I've seen them on cooking shows and finally decided to treat myself when my old one died. I wasted my money. Thinking since this is a KitchenAid brand I'd be fine, I didn't read any reviews. This thing is a piece of junk. First, I live at sea level, where the boiling point of water, as everyone knows, is 212 degrees F. I tested it, and water boiled at 217 degrees. Five degrees off is huge for things like making candy (which I do). The caramel for my Christmas candy was way over cooked and I had to go to the store, get new ingredients and start over. (That's when I decided to test it with boiling water). The other problem is that the clasp that is used to attach it to the side of your pot slides right off the thermometer. It's super unsteady. I was stirring the caramel with a spatula, and every time I got near it, let alone touched it, the thermometer flew out of the pot and landed on the stove, leaving a trail of burnt sugar all over my stovetop. KitchenAid ain't what it used to be. Time to start looking for a new one. Sigh.

Excellent Candy Thermometer
I've purchased 8 candy thermometers in the last year. This is the first one that I've found I love, and it works with the right temperature for my candy. The accuracy is amazing.
