DON'T BE FOOLED BY APPEARANCES--THESE SHOES ROCK!
It's amazing to me how quickly we are to judge a book by its cover. I'll be the first to admit these exoskeleton looking shoes might be a bit off-putting by how they look but, trust me, once you wear them, you won't care what other people think about how they look. I had seen these shoes out in the wild for a while but never gave them any thought and certainly didn't think I'd ever want a pair. Then, through a set of circumstances, I ended up trying a pair on owned by a friend of mine. I was so impressed with how comfortable they were, I immediately ordered three pairs in different colors and I couldn't be more pleased. They feel super amazing on my feet and I love walking in them, even for fairly long distances. If you're looking for a great amount of support, particularly orthotic support, these are not the shoes for you. They're flat--very flat. But for me, they feel almost as if I'm walking barefoot and that's a good feeling. They provide great traction on various types of terrain including wet surfaces and seem to be quite durable. Although I've not worn them to the beach, I do have a pool and have not had any problem with them getting wet. They're easy to put on and take off and even though I have very wide feet, these shoes provide plenty of room so my dogs don't feel the least bit cramped in them. If you have very narrow feet, they may not provide the best fit. I can't say that for sure but be aware, they seem to be extremely roomy, despite the fact that I mostly wear them with fairly thick half ankle socks. However, I feel just as comfortable walking in them barefoot, just not for very long distances without socks. That's not what they're designed for. Never having worn Crocs, I can't say how these compare but I can say, I don't feel the need to try any other brand because these are just that good and, for me, the price is just right for what you get.

Great shoe but runs VERY large.
Like almost every review states, these are excellent shoes but they run very, very large. The lake I frequent has been infested with zebra mussels and therefore you can’t walk/swim in it without something on your feet as the shells are very sharp and will cut your feet. I will be using these strictly as water shoes without socks so I want a snug fit with little to no give. In order to get that I had to size down from my “normal” shoe size. I went with a size 7 in these and the fit is nearly perfect for my purposes. My toes are right at the end but not touching. While I typically wear a wide shoe the width on these is fine for me. I have a pretty high arch on my right foot making that one tighter than the other but for the relatively short time I’ll have them on it’ll be fine. There is no slipping at all bordering on too tight (but not quite). If I wanted to wear socks I’d definitely need to go up a size. Also, I would not want to wear these for extended walking. While they are plenty comfortable and will suit me well in the water, there’s not enough cushioning and support for much more - but then I have lots of foot problems so your milage will vary. Since shoe sizes are all over the place here are my current other shoes and sizes for reference: • Hoka Clifton 8 - 9.5EE • Birkenstock Arizona - 41 reg • Crocs Classic - 9 (no socks) 10(socks) • Danner Mountain 600 - 8.5EE Again I went with a size 7 in these Hydro Mocs for a super snug no slip fit. Cheers!

The Hydro MOC: Husband-Approved, Adventure-Ready, and Surprisingly Stylish
The Merrell Men's Hydro Moc Water Shoe has become my husband's go-to footwear for everything from backyard adventures to spontaneous beach trips. These shoes are a game-changer, they're lightweight, comfortable, and surprisingly stylish. The EVA foam construction provides excellent cushioning, and the slip-on design makes them incredibly convenient for quick outings. I cannot put enough emphasis on the shoe's versatility and comfort. While many reviews highlight the Hydro Moc's functionality, few delve into how seamlessly they integrate into various activities. Whether he's kayaking, hiking, or just lounging by the pool, these shoes have proven to be reliable companions. If you're looking for a durable, comfortable, and stylish water shoe, the Merrell Men's Hydro Moc Water Shoe is an excellent choice. My husband loves them, and I appreciate how they have become his everyday favorite. Great value for money and also waterproof.

Not near as comfortable as crocs Echo
Perhaps as comfortable as regular crocs but certainly not the crock echo (most) comfort. Durability better than crocs.

What an amazing shoe with a strange catch!
First off, I accidentally fell head over hills for these shoes. I 100% recommend these to anyone, but let me tell you about what is wrong with them yet why I still give a 5 Star rating to them. The size you wear needs to be sized down. If you wear a 9 or a 8.5 in men; then, you need to pick a size 8. People with half sizes suffer the most because going a size down is only a half size. 8.5 men’s goes down to 8 but it is still a little loose. The women’s have the men’s half sizes, but in completely different colors. Bottom line, size down, and sizing is difficult in general. Next is misshapen straps on the shoes issues. In my photo showing the straps on the hill, one is lower than the other exposing the shoes sizing printed. The strap should always lay at a diagonal angle and cover the size printed on the hill for the max comfort. I have tried 4 different colors and noticed my Paloma colored pair were softer and also less precise in fitting. This is probably due to the difference in the properties of the material color differences. Paloma color has the biggest problem here that I have noticed. And your results will vary color to color; but, will be mostly good if not the Paloma color choice. Lastly, I am about 250lbs. The bottom sole pattern will take larger wears due to your weight. My girlfriend has a pair that she wears just as much as me but there is a noticeably difference in wear because she is lighter. Besides what I mentioned, they are amazing. Slip resistant, cushioned and arch support, secure on the foot, stylishly different, etc. I absolutely 100% recommend these shoes to anyone because they can be used as a shoe that you just wear in your backyard, go on a hike, water shoes, or even wear every day. The women hole sizes are the men’s half sizes, but the colors are selective to sex and that’s a hard choice issue when picking what you want. But don’t forget to size down always; trust me. 10/10 would recommend and buy again. Hope this helped you.

Fantastic!!!
I absolutely LOVE these. My favorite slipper/water shoe. Very comfortable - true to size. If you are a half size, I would recommend sizing up to the nearest whole number. I wear a Boot Size (8W) and bought a (8) and it fits perfect. Slipping them on is easy - taking them off (*if you are a germaphobe) may be tricky. Because I bought them true to size, the back-strap prevents me from sliding them off easily without using my hands (*think - removing a dress shoe - rocking motion). Doesn't bother me though. I also got them on sale for $25 which is insane!

Decent shoe, but not a great Crocs substitute
I bought these hoping they’d be a good alternative to Crocs, but they didn’t quite deliver. The biggest issue was comfort — they caused blisters after limited wear, which I don’t experience with Crocs. They’re also not as easy to slip on and off. The opening is tighter and less forgiving, so they don’t have that effortless, grab-and-go feel I was looking for. On the plus side, they look a bit more polished and feel durable. Overall, they might work for short wears or for someone who wants a more structured option, but if you’re specifically looking for a Crocs replacement for comfort and convenience, these fall short.

Conversation starters!
The Merrell Hydro Moc for men is insanely comfortable—easy to slip on, lightweight, and perfect for everything from quick errands to kicking around by the water. They’ve got great grip, dry fast, and feel supportive even after hours of wear. The only downside is the bottom hasn’t lasted as long as I hoped; mine are starting to look torn up underneath, kind of like a worn-out shoe sole. Still, they’re so practical and comfortable that I keep reaching for them anyway. Even with that wear, they’re a 5 out of 5 for me.
