Very useful, low cost, hour meter. Great for Air compressors.
Great hour meter. It's setup is 'interesting' as one has to 'cut' a wire in order to activate it. (I guess that's not a bad idea!). The vibration sensitivty is advertied as most sensitive when mounted face up. That's how I used it. I'm using it on my PCP high pressure air compressor. Actually, my compressor does not vibrate too much, so I was initially worried that this would not pickup the vibrations. It did. Impressive. The only comment/complaint I have against this is: The instructions advise the user to either use 'double sided tape' or 'screws' (which are included) to mount the meter. The screws are included. The double-sided tape is not. Good thing I had some on hand. I do like how it reads hours in 1/10 of an hour (i.e. standard decimal notation) instead of trying to display HH:MM. Anyways, great meter, low cost and does the job!

AIMILAR Vibration Hour Meter
I added this meter to my new (DXCM303) Dewalt air compressor. It was added before the break-in period of 1/2 hour. I mounted it with double-sided tape on the mounting plate between the pump and the motor. I clipped the wire as instructed to in the instructions, started the timer and turned on the compressor. The meter immediately started to flash the hour glass indicating it was working. It checked reasonably close to the timer for my liking, about 6 minutes to a tenth of an hour. Overall pleased with the operation. One thing, actually two minor things that I was not pleased with are, 1, You cannot maintain the battery it is sealed in the unit. 2, There is no "Reset" button or a way to reset to "0" for next service interval. I would have paid a little more for those two features. Overall I am pleased with the product at this time.

Not for a trailered equipment (boats, other motors your haul on a trailer)
The meter itself works fine when the engine is in use, but BEWARE - it counts false hours if installed on an engine you haul with a trailer (say a boat outboard). I suspect it activates by vibration during your haul time even on a smooth highway road thus counting false hours. I installed it on a boat outboard for my boat which I haul on a trailer. The meter counted about extra 4+ hours during a 5 hours trip to a to a place of launch and actual use.

Works Well WIth Air Compressor Pump But No Timer Reset, Watch Our Test Video
I got the Aimilar timer for my 30-gallon air compressor to help me keep track of oil changes. Read on for our evaluation -- MEDIUM SENSITIVITY WORKED FINE: Since the timer has to be installed vertically, it's in the medium sensitivity mode but did not have a problem sensing the air compressor pump running as shown in the video. -- MOUNTS WITH 2 SIDE TAPE: The back of the unit is not flat. So I had to use 2 layers of foam 2 side tape to make sure it held well to the air compressor pump. I used 3M foam 2 side tape to attach the face of the air compressor pump. -- PROVIDES VIBRATION SENSE FEEDBACK: The timer worked well and sensed the compressor running and there is a small area of the display that activates when the timer is running to give you some positive feedback and it working. -- NO TIMER RESET: It would have been nice if it could be reset, say at the oil change, but there is no ability to reset the time that I can read anywhere or find on the device. -- INCOMPLETE PACKAGE: The delivered package had a large empty blister meant for something but it was empty...not sure what that was about ....maybe a screwdriver? -- NEED TO SNIP THE WIRE LOOP: Luckily I read the instructions as you need to snip the wire loop for the unit to activate. -- OPERATING LIFE: The webpage says it has an operating life of 2 years and I'll report back especially if stops sooner than that. Works OK, but short battery life and can't replace.
Works as advertised on 5hp compressor base plate. It stopped recording at 19 months and the battery can't be changed. I really need something more permanent and that can be maintained. I'm looking at options for a replacement.

It's Low Cost and Service the purpose..
It does exactly what it says it does in as soon as I put it on to my PCP compressor which library says it's compressing here it started working and I'm very happy with that. It's Low Cost and Service the purpose.. If your compressor doesn't have a built-in hourmeter, this is a must have.

I wanted to know hours of operation of a heater and research (incorrectly) indicated that this device was senstive enough to do that. It's not. Works fine where there is a reasonable sharp tap or vibrate but needs more that my fan motor does.
