HDTV Antennas Amplified 60-80 Mile

I cut cable a long time ago, and have been using bunny ears for as long as I remember. However, a week ago, my old antenna dropped and broke one of the bunny ears. I still got reception from it, but about only half the channels (15 out of the regular 33).I just received this in the mail and hooked it up. After scanning, no channels were detected. I unplugged and plugged the coax and USB wire again, scanned, still, nothing. I tried all combinations then tried it on my other TV in another room. In the other room, it detected 2 channels, but when I go on those channels, nothing comes on.I made a big mistake thinking something fancy like this would give me better results, however I received WAYYY better reception with a $5 bunny ear antenna. Going to go to a 99 cent store now to pick up one while I drop this at the UPS dropoff for a return back to Amazon.

This is my 1st week into using this antenna. After hooking up the antenna to my TV (Samsung LED), I was pretty amazed at how clear the picture quality is. The picture quality seems to be more crisp than the HD picture I got via my former cable provider. I live in the suburb right outside of a major city and am able to receive more than 30 channels (including major networks - NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, and PBS). I've had to shift the antenna around to get CW but it's spotty at times. Half of the channels are Spanish though and there are some random channels with old timer shows. My biggest disappointment is the inability to get ABC. Not sure why because the station is in the same range as the other networks that I'm able to receive signals for. I'm keen to purchasing a different antenna to see if I would be able to see "all" major networks. Besides from that, I think this is a decent product that serves "most" of my needs.

Not a 50 mile range. More like 20. Customer service has emailed me (I never emailed them) wondering what was going on with the antenna signal. They did try and give me some pointers that I already new because this is what I do for a living (install cable and satellite tv). I do not want a bill of any kind. So I stuck with the off air. Customer service stayed in contact with me about the progress. Even offered a refund. But I am going to give it to a friend that lives in town next to the towers. It should help them more.

If you could see where I live, you'd be as amazed as I am that I get 20 channels. I am surrounded (all four sides) by mountains. We are about half way up a mountain, on a dirt road. Holy cow! This and Netflix via Roku and I'm happy, happy.

I live on the west side in Los Angeles. I have the amazon HDTV antenna which holds up pretty well. There are 2 stations that I have to move the antenna for which is a pain. I was hoping this antenna would do the trick. I hooked it up and scanned the channels and didn't get anything. I moved the antenna all around the room and didn't get a single channel. I hooked up the Amazon antenna again and all my channels back.

Unfortunately the product did not workout for me. It received the same amount of stations as my regular cheap Anthenna did and with the same inconsistent coverage. So i decided to return the product. However I am not sure if it's my location inside the apartment building, anthenna positioning or Mayfield Heights, OH tv reception area overall.....so inconclusive on the actual quality of this item. This antenna did only pick up two channels, while my other Avantek antenna, in the same spot picked up 16 channels. Although I liked the design, I did send it back, because it obviously did not work for me. I have to add that I do live in a rural light residential area (although close to the city), so maybe this antenna works fine when living in the city.

It certainly did not met my expectations. I guess it's better than no antenna, but it does not come anywhere near 50 mile reception (yes I checked before I bought to see which I needed). Oh well. I'll just try another brand but be a little more intensive in my investigation before I spend another $25.00.
