M2 x 10mm + 3mm Male to Female Thread Brass Hexagon Hex Standoff Spacer Pillars - (50 Pcs)

I refurbish a lot of older computers and part of the problem is that the standoffs never quite line up properly with the back side of the case. These, however, do the trick. 12mm is just about the right size to take a motherboard, secure it down, and get it screwed into a backplate or the inside of an older case and have the cards installed in it line up with the expansion slots. No more using M3 nuts to adjust the height of my standoffs!

I had metric nuts in hand so these worked fine. I used them as uprights in a 3-level tower for my pi4 with the power supplies and power switch on the bottom, the pi4, and the USB hub on top. I cut sheets of 1/8” opaque smoked lexan and drilled them all identically on the four corners for these posts. Stuck generic silicone feet on the bottom. Worked a treat.

Bought these to use with a VEX V5 build while waiting for official parts and they bent at the male ends. We were putting 2-3 of them together to stabilize sprockets mounted on a high strength shaft for an intake and also to just stabilize/span distance between c-channels. They might work fine if used for other purposes, but I don’t recommend them for VEX builds.
