Great overview of the artist.
My son and I read the book before our trip to the Dali Museum. It was well written in a very comprehensible manner and gave a good overview of the artist. The pictures were a great addition along with the humor.

Great introduction
My 9 year old girls loves these books. They have truly sparked an interest in these types of historical figures at a much earlier age than I was when I started learning about them.

Loved this book ....
We got this book for our daughter to read before going to the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL. She loved the book (and the museum) and has asked to get other books in this series to learn about other artists.

Pre-read before sharing with a class!!!!
So, I bought this book for a program where parents come and talk to the class at my son's school. Salvador Dali was one of my favorite artists in my youth. I liked the elephants with the really long legs the best. That image is not in this book. What IS in this book is discussion of how Dali's brother died and his parents treated him as though he was his brother. A lover's tryst. And, a reference to Hitler. Let's just say I was mortified while reading the book to the class. No, no, no!I expected a highly rated Scholastic book to be child appropriate without controversy. What I got was a weird book about a weird guy whose elephants I don't even like anymore.
