Fun to assemble, great help with organization.
My base set box was getting a bit unwieldy, as I contorted the cardboard divider in the bottom this way and that in order to accommodate an increasing number of expansions. The Broken Token organizer is a great solution. I took my time cutting out the pieces instead of just popping them out, and shaving down the burrs on the joins where it matters. I didn't put an exorbitant amount of time into this, but it was a fine way to relax while enjoying a beer. At first, it seemed a bit large for the box... but my corners just weren't properly squared up. Once everything was really tight and flush, the fit was great. The instructions recommend gluing loose bits and taping the corners... I haven't bothered to do this, there are so many joins that it's holding together tightly on its own. I've crammed the base set, inns/cathedrals, builders/traders, princess/dragon, river 2, cults, king/robber, as well as a set of pink meeples. So far so good. There's not a whole lot of flexibility with divider placement, but there is some. Additionally, the trays for the meeples etc. are a little awkward, but it's manageable. Scoreboard and various rule sheets still fit on top. All in all, has vastly improved the organization of my Carc set without resorting to a large awkward art bin or the like. I wouldn't hesitate to buy Broken Token organizers for other games, if the need arose.

Accommodates expansions beautifully
I gave this organizer as a gift for my husband seven years ago. It has held up well and makes it easy to find, sort and store all the game pieces. My husband received two new expansion sets and they are easily added to the box. Even with four expansions, there are plenty of dividers to keep tiles separated and more than enough space for specialty meeples. I love that the organizer fits in the original box and keeps everything in one place. Highly recommend!

Made to fit my game?
I really like what the Broken Token is doing with organizing options. I think the actual product is sturdy and well designed but the measurements on the site are a bit confusing. The only other thing I felt was off is that there's various editions of the game I own (Carcassonne) and the organizer only really works with some of them. Trying to figure out if the organizer was going to fit my game was a little frustrating and I did have to sand and modify my organizer to make it work. All and all after I got the kit together and sanded it fit very well and definitely helps me keep my game organized.

Works great with older Rio Grande Games box
Note: This review is written by Rachel's husband, Adam. However, both of us (along with various teen and adult children) love to play this game. It's one of the positive things we'll take away from the Covid-19 shelter in place orders. I got my college-age daughter Carcassonne 2017 big box for Christmas 2019 (when it was still available at normal prices), and she finally got us to play it a few weeks ago. We liked it so much that we bought an older set with version 1 art from someone on Craigslist. It includes the base game and The River, plus the following major expansions: Inns & Cathedrals, Traders & Builders, The Tower, and Abbey & Mayor. It also included a 5-card mini expansion. All the base & expansion cards fit into the Tower holder, but it was shaky and kept falling apart, and it was just a little higher than the Carcassonne base game box height. I started to look for alternative organizers. I really liked the complete wooden boxes available in places like Etsy. Some were basic and quite functional with ability to expand, and some were absolutely beautiful, and accordingly expensive. In the end, I chose the inserts from The Broken Token because they allowed me to use the original Carcassonne box. Assembly was fairly straightforward - I took my time and sometimes had to resort to a bit of tapping. The instructions suggest using some wood glue. I see no need to use glue on the main divider in the box - it fits in the old base game box nice and tight, and will not come out easily. I will probably add a bit of wood glue to the 2 insert trays that hold meeples and other game elements, but they are fairly sturdy even without the glue. The main thing is that the insert fits splendidly in the old style Rio Grande base game box, so if you have that version, don't hesitate to buy these inserts. My box is just over 7.25" by just over 10.5" - note that the box wall is bowed out slightly in the photos.

Don't waste your money
Product does not fit in Carcassonne box without taking scissors to frame pieces, and it does not organize anything - divider spacing is such that you will either waste a full expansion's worth of space in the box, or expansions will end up having to share spaces, which defeats the entire point of having an organizer. Does not take into account the scoring track either - you can't put it on the bottom of the box because even after trimming the frame, that thing is never coming coming out again; if you put it on top, there's a good half-inch of empty air under two thirds of the scoring track.

Not needed, doesn’t fit as well as for other games
We love Broken Token box organizers. Despite the high cost (nearly as much as the game in many cases) we have found that they do a great job protecting the game box and pieces. The one for Castles of Burgundy is especially good. Unfortunately, that is not the case for this one. We purchased Carcassonne and this organizer at the same time. We put it all together and went to put it in the box, but to our disappointment, it ripped the seams of the box. More than that, it isn’t that necessary like it is for a game with lots of different pieces. Carcassonne has two types of pieces—meeples and cards. Both fit neatly in the provided box as it comes without the need for this insert. So we recommend these for other games, but for Carcassonne, the organizer isn’t needed and doesn’t fit well.

Difficile à entrer dans le boîte mais c'est produit très pratique une fois que l'on a réussi.
