JW SPEAKER J.W. Speaker (3156351) Headlight Mounting Ring Kit

I bought this with the JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 LED for installation on a 2012 H-D Ultra Classic. Note that the original H-D mounting ring will NOT work without significant modifications! As expected, this fit the JW Speaker LED lights perfectly. Installation was very easy. Remove one screw to take off the outside "dress" ring, 3 screws to get the old light free, and about 5 screws to remove the old mounting ring. The new ring mounts in EXACTLY the same holes in the cowl. Although not shown, the package also includes the ring that holds the new LED light against the mounting ring. A couple of installation notes. The mounting ring DOES have a correct orientation (the tab that the dress ring goes on, goes down) Also, the retaining ring must be correctly oriented to get all 3 bolts to line up correctly. Holding the ring and LED light in place makes it difficult to get the 3 bolts lined up an started without being cross-threaded, but it is possible! :)My only slight complaint is that only 2 of the 3 adjustment screws line up with the recesses in the dress ring. Not a huge deal to adjust the light before the dress ring is in place, but it seems odd they didn't line up.

I used these to mount two 7" Truck Lite (Rigid Industries) headlights on a W463 Merc. The brackets (rings) are solid metal, really well constructed and heavy duty. However, the holes in the bracket (that will attach the headlight to the bracket) are not tapped at all. All three of them were not tapped on both rings I ordered. So the screws provided with each ring is useless. It was a relatively easy fix if you have a tap kit. That's what I ended up doing.

Fit like a champ! From removing the old stock light and mounting hardware to a finished installation (including the light), took less that 20 minutes. Good quality and a perfect fit.

You can cut the old one or just buy this. Nice new and clean.
