Thick metal. Has more taper than the pics indicate
I've been looking for a well made stainless bowl for dogs that isn't tippy.Most of the ones in this price range can be dented with your fingertips. These are far thicker metal.Look closely at the very bottom in the photos. You can sorta see the extra lower part of the bowl that extends down an extra half an inch. It doesn't make the bowl much tippier, but the manufacturers of these try every way to increase the measured dimensions without using extra metal.So if you're expecting a flat bottom, or you really were looking for a bowl of a specific depth to use in a bowl stand or something like that, there is a LITTLE extension of the depth.I like them. Better than the options I've bought at this price. Note that quite a few of these appear to be the same exact product, but this one is a bit different from the others in the ~5/bowl range.

Very Nice Sturdy SS Bowls.
Very nice bowls. They stack so they don't take much space. And are sturdy with a nice finish. A Perfect size for microwave popcorn.

These 9.6x 3.5 bowls quickly became the work horses in my kitchen. They’re great in every way. Big enough to marinade chicken for 4, sturdy and easy to clean. Also the price is fantastic.👍👍👍👍

A really good value
These bowls have more of a dog bowl shape, but that's ok as they store compactly and slide into the fridge in tighter spots, having a low profile, yet hold a fair amount of product. They are real sturdy, especially for the price. I use these mostly for bread dough's that I put put in my fridge to mature.
