CARL RM-15/2 15-Inch Cutting Mat for all 15-Inch Trimmers,Gray

I have a 24-30 year old Fiskars tabletop rotary paper cutter. The cutting mat strip has had a split in it for several years, but since I had only used the cutter occasionally in the last 20 years, it wasn't imperative to replace it. Now that I'm retired and am doing crafts, I needed to replace it because I suspected it was the cutting mat strip, and not the blade, that was resulting in some raggedy edge cuts on certain kinds of paper. I could not find a Fiskars brand replacement, so seeing that another reviewer on here had used the CARL brand for a paper cutter similar to mine, I decided to give it a try. As we both found, this strip is actually longer than the stated 15 inches; it's about 17.75 inches. I used a box cutter to trim off about 2.75 inches without difficulty. This CARL strip didn't seem to sit as securely in the well as the original, so I used some Handi Tak pressed into the well very flat to keep the strip from moving. I didn't want to use any real type of adhesive, as these CARL strips are able to be turned over when one side wears out. This seems to have worked fine, and the practice cut I did after changing the mat strip was fine.

They're pretty simple and easy to use

Fisker’s no longer warrantees the older trimmers even though they say they have a lifetime warranty. They told me that my trimmer had lived its life, and they were not replacing anything, but luckily this cutting strip fit after a little shortening. I am going to use double sided tape or some other sticky substance to secure it.

I wish they'd last longer, but they are perfect for our mat. Make sure you get the right size for the cutting mat - I measured the length the first time I ordered these, and they were too long - I measured 18" but I have a 15" mat. But, they're easy to cut to size.

I bought this to replace the old one on my Fiskars paper cutter. It worked perfectly! I thought the problem might have been the blade, but just changing this out fixed the issue. It's interesting to note that the strip is supposed to be 15" long but is actually 17-1/2". I had to cut part of it off to get it to fit, but that wasn't a big deal.
