Disappointing
Purchased motor with some reluctance after reading other reviews. I expected to encounter an issue or two. I checked the motor when it arrived & tightened all bolts I could find. Operated the motor several times on my bass raider. The last time I noticed oil in the bottom of the boat. Returned to shore. Removed the motor & found the lower unit had come loose. After more investigation I discovered several of the allen bolts, not externally accessible, have worked loose. So now it looks like I'll need to open the motor to gain access to those bolts. Rather be fishing;(

Perfect
I have it on my pelican boat. I cranks up every time. Perfect little motor. I got it up to 9mph against the current. beats the heck out of the trolling motor I had on it. Battery kept running down. I filled it up with gas and only used 25% of it. Great buy! NO CAP!

Seller is customer centric.
I bought this motor as a back up motor for my motorized boat. I finally took it out for a test drive after little about 4 weeks. My onboard also stopped running and so I engaged my back-up (this) motor. This motor broke down after about 5-10 minutes of working and we were stranded on the lake. I contacted the seller and they offered me a discount to take it to a repair shop. Unfortunately, I let them know that the repair would cost more than the motor cost. This back and forth caused my order to go out-side the refund period, but. I contacted the seller and they made good on the warranty (one year) and sent me a replacement motor. While the motor is not very high-quality (but then it not very expensive, so you are getting what you pay for), the seller stood by their product and warranty. I appreciated this. Thank you.

Small propeller
Starts right up, needs a bigger propeller. Has trouble pushing my 14 foot aluminum boat

Starts easy, runs smooth!
Put this on a 14ft V bottom 2 person boat from the 60's. It run about 5mph forward and 3mph in reverse. After burning 4 hours of gas and doing several donuts in reverse and forward I sold the boat. Air cooled is a plus...I do wish the exhaust exited under the water but get some earplugs...and leave em in when you are fishing so you can pretend you don't hear anyone complaining!

Perfect for our Jon boat
This outboard motor is perfect for our 12’ Jon boat!! It goes 5 mph and has it’s own gas tank so no need for one inside the boat. The only negative is that the motor doesn’t have a serial number on it so you’ll have to etch one yourself. The seller also doesn’t provide a Certificate of Origin that Texas asks for in order to register it. Luckily, they waived the Certificate since we etched a serial number and provided pictures.

Fell apart within a few uses. $87 restocking fee
Do not buy this outboard. I had reasonable expectations being a $300 outboard. However the clutch fell apart after a few uses before not starting back up at all.Seller accepted refund - however charges an $87 restocking fee and shipping to return is paid by the buyer and is generally $100 or more. Cost me ($115)
