Frontier Co-op Organic Cinnamon Chips 1lb - Bulk Indonesian Cinnamon Bark | 16 Ounce (Pack of 1)

I love these cinnamon chips! I’ve been using these in my tea blends as well as my elderberry syrup and fire cider. They smell wonderful and add a delightful cinnamon y flavor. I’ve even been using them in a simmer pot along with cloves and oranges to put moisture in the air with the added bonus of a nice fragrance. This is a quality product and a good deal for the size. As usual, I am happy with Frontier’s bulk herbs and spices.

I purchased the spice of organic cinnamon bark pieces from the frontier co-op to use in curry blends, golden milk tea blends, and chai tea blends that I make myself. The package contains a little less than 2 quarts of product. The packaging does not contain a zipper seal so you will need a solution for a storage to keep the product fresh until use. Upon opening the package the spice appeared to be quite fresh and the fragrance was very pleasing and strong. This product was everything that I was looking for as a spice to use in my own culinary and tea blends. I find this product to be a very good value for the price paid, and I will definitely use this spice purveyor again for future purchases. One should note that this item is cinnamon bark pieces, not ground cinnamon, so it is good for imparting flavor when you intend to strain off the spices, but if you were trying to give a baked good cinnamon flavor, this would not be ideal as you would still have large pieces of cinnamon in your baked good.

Frontier has been my consistent go-to company to buy spices in high quality and bulk and these cinnamon chips are no exceptions! Now these aren't going to be useful for baking into muffins as you'd want a good powder instead and not as pretty as a rolled stick you can grind or use as garnish, but these ARE perfect for infusing cinnamon into liquids like I do. See, I like making Medieval Hypocras wine and I don't care to use powdered cinnamon as it's messy to filter out and sticks are too expensive to just smash up in a mortar and pestle. These chips however are perfect for this task. Easy to measure to the grams in a home made paper tray on my scale and just pour into my wine I want to infuse. The taste of these chips is sharp and spicy and a much stronger flavor than anything you could get in most stores, unless that store carries Frontier that is. Great flavor, easy to measure, easy to use, easy to filter out later and best of all, the price is excellent per pound!

These cinnamon chips are fresh and flavorful. And excellent value for bulk cinnamon.

Love these chips. Put them in my tea leaves or coffee grounds when I brew. So versatile.
