Monoprice Blank Panel, 7"(H) X 19"(W), 4U

Instead of buying an expensive PDU, I will just attach a power strip to it with alien tape. Much cheaper! However, they do ship it in a huge box even if you buy one. Got 2 big boxes because it was a separate order, thought they would combine it to save money.

Was kind of expecting a thin piece of metal. It’s definitely not thin. You could use it to defend yourself if needed. I don’t recommend that—it’d be an unfortunate situation for both you AND your assailant. It’s very substantial. Order 10,000 of them and build yourself a bunker on par with the Bat Cave. The blank space in your studio rack will be as impressive as the spaces filled with expensive equipment.

Blank piece of powder coated metal. How do you go wrong? It blanked the blankety blank out of my blank places.

It's glossy instead of the usual matte black panel you find in standard rack panels. But works.

This is not your ordinary 3u blank, the long edges are broke, meaning it has a 90 degree lip which makes the panel rigid, nice! It's an unexpected plus. You won't be disappointed. I bought this to fill the 3U spot left after I mounted my mixer in my slant top case. It would only fit upside down due to the extra length of the mixer. This actually worked out better in my opinion, I mounted two desk top mic mounts to each side, plus the lip is nice to catch a pen/pencil etc. I'll try and post pics to the site

This item may cost a little bit more than purchasing from Monoprice but it is okay. Also, it fits 19" racks perfectly and fits well within 1U of space. It definitely helps keep the racks looking clean. I have mine sitting above a Cyberpower surge protector to give it some space since it is near impossible to plug something in with the cable tray attached to the back. However, I wish the texture and paint was a little different for the blank panel. All our switches are a matte black and this is almost a gloss textured black. But not a big deal.

So- yeah, it's just a rack blank plate, but it is something like 12 gauge steel with a heavy coating of paint. I am using this as a panel for a custom rack-mount device, and it definitely worked out. Way better than the other flimsy pieces for sale.

1st off I will say the plate is built very well and much thicker steel than i imagined it would be. My only gripe is the color. Its not a standard black like the rest of my equipment. This color is a dark grey.
