My 9 y/o daughter found photos online of the original sculpture of this and the story behind and she instantly became obsessed! It is so cute. It’s small but is great quality and is the perfect size for her to carry around. People are constantly asking about it lol.If you don’t already know the story here you go.It is a statue by Dutch artist Margriet van Breevoort. It has the head of a northern elephant seal, a larval body, and human hands. It is known as Homunculus loxodontus “The one who Waits” and is also called Snorp or Wosh. It represents the emotions of people who wait at a doctors office. According to Breevort, the sculpture is meant to convey the message that "you should calmly wait for a diagnosis and hope for the best". It was intended to look humorous, but also cute and huggable. It now sits with other art in a children’s hospital in Leiden, Netherlands.

This is a phenomenal funny gift for those who like memes. My college son loved this as a birthday present - so much so that I think it was his favorite gift even though he received several items he personally picked out from the electronics department. FYI the original sculpture already has its own Wikipedia page that discusses the internet success of the meme, so he looked it up and read it out loud to us, adding to the fun when he opened this gift.I bought because my son has a poster of this “thing” hanging in his apartment so I knew he already enjoyed this particular meme. It’s not a super squishy soft toy, but is well-made, the fabric is nice quality, the base part is a little squishy, and ours stands fine on its own. It now has a place of honor in my son’s room and will going to his apartment after summer break. Highly recommend!

This cute wosh has a lot of detail. I'm a fan of squishmallows, and wosh is definitely not as soft, but it's okay. The arms are particularly firm, which is probably due to extra stuffing to get the hand shape detail right. Wosh does have a cute look to it, but that was only after I molded its head into a better shape. You can flatten the base a little to help wosh stand better, but it will never be totally flat. I think only a child would be able to properly hug wosh due to its small size, but adults can hold it in their palm. Wosh definitely has a very calm, namaste look it it.
