Delightful and wholesome: captures the imagination rather than letting it atrophy
If you want a beautiful wholesome book dealing with the innocence of a lovable scottie dog and his adventure with some ducks acting like, well, ducks, this one is sweet, explores actions and consequences, and opens doors to plenty of discussion on many levels with children of many ages. A classic! Good for ages 2-7... and can be enjoyed for its aesthetic value by those older.

A timeless classic!
When my children were little, this was one of their favorite books. We got it from the library several times a year and read it over and over. Fast forward a quarter of a century and I am now reading it over and over to our almost-three-year-old grandson.Angus doesn’t appreciate the new member of the family - the CAT. Every time he turns around the CAT is in his spot, eating his food, and doing things he’s not allowed to do. He tries to chase her and teach her a lesson, but Angus is TOO SHORT to reach her. One day the CAT disappears and Angus has the house to himself again. But he quickly realizes he has NOTHING-TO-DO and he isn’t quite as happy as he thought he’d be. Fortunately for Angus, the cat finally reappears and all is well.Marjorie Flack writes in a style that absolutely begs to be read aloud. Angus chases the cat UP-THE-STAIRS and soon finds himself ALL-ALONE. Kids just love listening to the rise and fall of your voice as you read the way Flack wrote.Although almost 90 years old, this little book is just as wonderful today as when it was first published. I’m pretty sure it will still be a favorite fifty years from now!

Lovely little book
This is a sweet little book. My children are grown, but I do have Scotty children. I love all things Scotty! The parcel arrived early but was open. Looks like it wasn't sealed properly.

Lovely, classic book
This was the only Angus book I didn't already own-and was purchased for my dog-loving one year old granddaughter to complete the trilogy. The book was in pristine condition and arrived well-packaged and on time. I am very pleased with the purchase-and my granddaughter is, too!

Cute book
Got this for the grandkids to look at when they come over. They like the simple story and the illustrations. I like it too!

Petite déception
Petite déception car j'imaginais l'édition de meilleure qualité (j'avais prévu de l'offrir à une fan de bons illustrateurs). Mais les illustrations restent belles, alors je le garde pour moi.

A work of genius
This is a beautiful story, eloquently told and greatly enjoyed by all my children. The thought provoking finale is so good for helping to understand language that I recommend this for all children.

Every child's favourite book!
My 18 month old adores this book. The illustrations have variety, he loves saying 'pop' when the balloon bursts, enjoys the repetitive elements, likes being able to spot the cat when Angus can't see it, and always settles down happily to this favourite story. His elder brother went through a period of several months around age 18-24 months when he insisted on this story every single bedtime. I'm ordering a new copy because ours is so ragged - it first belonged to my brother back in 1974 and it was his favourite book too.

Same classic I read as a child
I love getting classic stories for my grandchildren. I do not much care for many of the current children's stories, especially those tied to products or tv shows. Classics are alwaYS THE BEST!
