Motors work great, battery pack melted
Easy plug and play with the motors and fans. The battery packs were mostly fine but after a couple minutes they got hot and the rubber boiled on the wiring ends. Great value for the motors but be careful with the battery packs around children, burnt my hand trying to stop the pack from catching fire.

Learning by fooling around
This is a perfect toy: you can do practically anything you want with it, and it occasionally surprises you by doing something. If you ask me, that’s how real learning works. Eventually, maybe, my grandson will see which combinations will make the motor spin, or the light work. But there were scant instructions, so there is no ‘right’ way to build anything. It seemed pretty safe, and it was cheap enough that it’s no big deal when the pieces get lost (which they surely will). Get this!

Safety hazards
There are 2 safety hazards.1 if you have the batteries in the battery holder and you use the motor with the red on it and you connect the black wire then connect the red wire it sparks.2 if you have the batteries in the battery holder then put the red and black wires together they turn red and burn each other.

Great for young scientist
I purchased this for a science lab on conductors and electricity flow. The kids had a blast with it. This set really helped drive home the content in an interactive, fun way. Some of the parts are questionable. I was worried that the wires would be too thin, in which they are a little thin, but they still worked.

Broken & Smokin'
I used it in my 4th grade classroom. The first day it was used, the two-battery pack started smoking and the wires melted together. I fixed it with electrical tape and kept an eye on it. The lightbulb piece didn't work well, so I added some wire to it and it broke. The buzzer doesn't work at all. Great idea, poor execution.
