Trees of Minnesota Field Guide (Tree Identification Guides)

Perfect for the camper
This was a gift of dad. Every time we go camping now he pulls out the book to try to identify trees. We have a bunch of different books on this series. The trees, the berries, the mushrooms, the birds. I really tend to like these ones. I also like that they're a smaller book

Just what I wanted
I can only identify a few trees, so this book was perfect for me as I begin to pay more attention to the trees around me. Each tree has a full page color photograph of the leaves. The opposing page gives by the basic facts (e.g., habitat, range, bark, fruit) with enough white space to keep it feeling accessible. Some introductory pages show small drawings of the trees without leaves next to a house to indicate their general size and shape. The book's small size make it easy to carry.

Everything I wanted and more
This book is perfect. It is logically laid out to ease identification in the field. The beautiful pictures and insightful Stan's Notes sections make the Field Guide a joy for recreational reading as well. I would recommend this Field Guide to any Minnesotan interested in woodmanship.
