ThinkOBD 100 OBD2 Code Reader for Car Engine Fault MIL Turn Off and O2 Sensor/EVAP Emissions Test with DTC Lookup as CR319 or AL319 for Entry-Level DIYers [ NEW 2020 ]

I have an intermittent issue with the check engine light coming on. Took my car to the garage, they charged £25 to reset the warning but could not find a fault. After a couple of weeks the light came on again so rather than give the garage another £25 I bought this item. I was able to check the error and reset the the warning easily. The included user guide is not great, but the correct procedure turned out to be:1. Plug in the OBD.2. Once it has initialised switch on ignition but do not start the engine.3. Select "diagnostics" and wait whilst it reads the data from the car. Faults show as a red value, select to read.4. If required fix the fault, then reset on the OBD. When OBD reports a reset, start the engine. If the fault is cleared the check engine light will go out.In my case as it is an intermittent fault I could reset the light without making any repairs, but I now know where the fault is so can investigate further.Overall, a really good value for money tool. Highly recommended.

Excellent product - entry level pro unit but good enough for a competent DIY mechanic.

It reads codes but does not clear. Waster of money!

Have a Vauxhall Astra K which has waaay to many faults - Had the vehicle in to 2 garages for diagnostics which has cost over £170.00. First Garage said there was nothing wrong, second said clutch slip and needs replacing. Managed to use this tool to clear the fault code - appears to be no issues with the vehicle.ThinkOBD didn't detect any faults, however did clear the error message when ran through the settings.Definitely recommended for this purpose. Also has a multitude of other features which I haven't yet used but definitely a useful thing to have.
