EquiVizor Fly Mask - With Nose Protection

Personally I love this fly mask because it doesn't use Velcro to go around the horses throat. My horses are pretty hard on their things and love to take each others fly masks off. This ensures that it will stay on all day and no one gets sunburnt on their noses. Most of my horses have bald faces and they have to have nose protection. Since using this product all the sun burnt spots have cleared up. My only complaint is I wish i realized they had a fly mask with ear protection.

This is by far the best UV fly mask I have tried. The extra expense is offset by the sturdiness of this mask. It is the only fly mask my horse can't remove. My horse has blue eyes and pink skin, so a UV mask is a must. This one is well thought out, well built, and comfortable for my horse.

I have a blue eye, bald face palomino that needs extra care. I liked the sun visor and that it had a noise piece all in one mask. There are 2 buckles to help it stay on, it's easy to put on and it's fairly durable. I find the buckles break fairly easy, but are easy to replace. I like the concept and the protection this mask offers, I have bought multiple ones as they do protect my horses eyes and face and it doesn't rub him. He wears a mask year round. Honestly the biggest downside is the cost, as they do eventually get so torn up, I have to replace it. That's not a flaw, it's what happens with any mask. But the cost has made me move on, and the only reason for not giving it 5 stars.

My horse responded very quickly to the UV protection - largely stopped head tossing altogether (but the skies have been somewhat cloudy and temperatures moderate). But within 3 days (about 12 hours total) of use, the nose guard has become unstitched on one side and the mesh fabric is fraying. I believe that this is due to design as well as fabrication. After stitching it up, I went on to perform its job all last year. But it developed creases in the mesh that come very close to his eye. I might buy another, but will look hard for something else. Looking for something like the Housewares Rambo Protector facemark, but with UV. Perhaps I will go with the Rambo and add uv fabric inside.

My Percheron paint cross developed cancer in his tear duct and was caught early enough to be removed. However, because he carries both genes for that particular cancer, and that his cancer has a high recurrence rate, and has white on his face, Ive been instructed to protect his eyes and white parts. I never knew a UV mask that covers the entire face like this even existed! Until now, I’ve been using the traditional style fly/UV mask and using sunscreen. Just stumbled upon this product when searching for a replacement UV mask and I could not be happier! What a blessing this is. And because it has the visor, there’s none of that denting that happens over the eyes like a traditional mask, their eye stays clear of the mask. And of course the benefit of it covering his tender white and pink nose. I will buy this one over and over again!

Love how the visor keeps the mask off my horse’s eyes. It is a little complicated to put on the first time, unlike any other I’ve ever used, but much easier after the first time. It isn’t lightweight but I’ve had heavier masks before. What matters most is the high UV protection for my white-faced Paint. She seems not to mind it, even though it comes the tip of her nose. We’ve seen a few nose wiggles but she’s never tried to remove it and it stays in place nicely.

I purchased this product because I have a mare with a pink nose and need something better to prevent sun burn. The fly mask came apart at the seam after two months of use. It’s now causing sores on my horses face and isn’t usable. I reached out to the company requesting a replacement because this is a defective product. The company wasn’t willing to work with me or stand by the product. I highly recommend using Etsy for full coverage uv sun protection fly masks.

Terrific and sturdy and comfortable. Blocks the sun from the eyes and the nose cover helps with other effects of trigeminal neuralgia. Had the same one for three years and worn daily for three months during spring/summer sun.
