Very beginner-stage cookbook
This is for BEGINNERS. It’s very basic and I wonder if my dad realized that when he asked for it for Father’s Day. That being said, it does cover a little of everything inside.

Just got the book in yesterday and was pleased to see how many recipes I like and how easy it looks to prepare them ! Having trouble deciding which one to start with

Very Good
This book was a good guide to a flat top griddle. There were a number of recipes that I will definitely have to try. Well done

Not Worth It... Even for Beginners
(Spouse, Paul is writing this review, since he's the family chef.) I love cookbooks and am disappointed I'm prompted to write such a negative review. This is barely more than a pamphlet you would get for buying a griddle or grill. There are some totally blank pages. For example, there are two separate pages for "Shrimp Lo Mein" and "Chicken or Beef Lo Mein" where they are identical recipes, word for word, except search-and-replace the word "meat" for "shrimp" and adding carrots. Lazy. Insulting. The "Cooking Tips" page instructs readers to visit a website or search YouTube for video instructions... that should be in the book! The recipes themselves are lazy: "your favorite seasonings" are not part of a proper recipe. What seasonings? The entire recipe for "Steaks" is: "Your favorite cut of steaks. Your favorite steak seasoning. Heat grill to medium high. Sear steaks on both sides to your desired level of doneness." Seriously? There's a photo on page 4 of the "crowd-pleasing onion volcano," which would be great in a home hibachi cookbook, but no recipe or instructions... instead, directions to "go to YouTube." This books is, unfortunately, a lazy waste of time and money.

Disappointed and duped
The "Official Backyard Hibachi Cookbook" and "The Grilling Guide for Outdoor Griddles" are identical in recipes with minor changes to a few pictures. If you purchased one do not purchase the other.I feel duped that the cover graphics were changed to indicate a new cookbook, the title was changed and Katherine Love's husbands Nicolas, added to make one believe a new collaboration of recipes was inside.Griddle and Hibachi style cooking are identical as indicated in the authors recipes.Having previously purchased "The Grilling Guide for Outdoor Griddles" by Katherine Love, finding it informative with interesting griddle recipes compelled me to purchase the second edition. This cookbook deserves a Four star on content but the deception of covers and content I can only rate it as a One star.
