Nice overall
Really nice unit. Contrary to other reviews it absolutely is real wood It makes the bathroom look a lot nicer. The only thing I would say is it comes with plastic bolts to attach the actual toilet seat underneath and they are very cheap what I did was just go to the hardware store and got some metal ones problem solved other than that totally all good

Not that cheap look "NICE"
Very nice cost a little more but chrome hinges and wooden look worth it.

Good toilet seat, but not real wood, veneer surface
Do like the toilet seat. Reviews said it was OK to use water seal to make it sturdier, but it did not work. Used Thompson’s Waterseal clear multi-surfaced waterproofer. It did not stick to the veneer wood. Even let it dry for two weeks, but it was still oily and sticky. Washed it off and installed the toilet seat. Great seat, but it is veneer and not real wood.

Matte look.
Bear in mind that this is not shiny. You may think it does not have protective veneer, but it does. It's a nice oblong seat and very easy to assemble.

Badly discolors after a couple months
UPDATE #2 DO NOT BUY!! After 2 months the seat has turned a very dark brown, no longer matches the color of the lid and looks horrible. Threw it away, total waste of money. P.S. No chemicals were ever used to clean the seat! Last picture is the seat before it was thrown away.UPDATE; After 21 days of use it is beginning to darken in color on both sides. Still have not had to adjust for the minor slipping so that's great but the discoloration is ugly. (2nd 2 pictures)Shockingly smooth. It took a few days to get used to the feel of it because it's really really smooth. It actually fit my elongated toilet and it fits perfectly. I have an attached Bidet and the seat fit very well with the Bidet, still lowers to the toilet properly. Easy to install and looks nice. It does have a little slipping going on, haven't found a seat that doesn't slip so I didn't dock any stars for that. It's been in use for a couple weeks and although beginning to slide to the side I haven't yet tightened up the screws so it's not as bad of slippage as I was going through. I'm not sure how well the veneer is going to hold up over time based on the underside edge finish but will update this feedback if it does start to peel/break.

A few things I didn't like, but I fixed them.
First, I would need to go back and look at the ad, but this is NOT SOLID Oak wood. It's particl board with a thin Oak veneer. I expected that due to the price. The finish was quite a bit lighter than I cared for, and whatever they sealed it with was a very thin coat. It was also an extremely 'flat' finish.I took it apart, lightly sanded it, and coated it with three coats of good satin finish polyurethane. That darkened it up a bit as I had hoped.MOST quality toilet seats have FOUR sets of 'bumpers' on the bottom flap where it rests on the bowl to support the weight of the user. This one only had TWO on the front. That is unacceptable to me because it puts the full weight of the user on the two small screws that hold the hinge to the seat. If you look at reviews, you will see many complaints of the screws coming loose and stripping out the holes and this is why that happens. Those little screws simply can not support the weight. My old seat had FOUR (I paid a bit more for it 20 years ago!) and they were still in good shape so I removed two of them and installed them on the new seat in the proper location. Now when someone uses the toilet, their weight is fully supported at four points around the rim of the bowl and I expect that the screws coming loose will not be an issue. If you aren't a handy person, I would strongly suggest purchasing only a seat with FOUR seat supports! You get what you pay for!
