Plenty of gameplay.
I bought this when it was on offer. Only ever played the original Assassins Creed, and found it repetitive. Thought I’d give this a go, since it was on sale and the time and….. it’s got Vikings! There is some hate around this Assassins Creed, and I’m not entirely sure why. I understand I never played anything after the original, so there is maybe something I’m missing and a community built on it or something. But I thoroughly enjoyed this version. The storyline is good, it tries to fit Norse mythology in with the Assassins Creed storyline. I won’t go into detail, so not to spoil anything. But I liked what they did. The only issue for me, was that the ending felt a little ‘unfinished’. There is more to the overall Assassins Creed story arc, which upcoming games will likely go into. But for Eivor, the character you play as, it all kind of leaves you to fill in the gaps yourself. Between you completing the game, and his grave being found in a totally different country. Despite that, gameplay is great. The fighting can be brutal at times and quite graphic, which I enjoyed. Because Vikings were brutal people. When you unlock new abilities, Eivor just becomes more and more awesome in terms of fighting. There is loads to do, and if like me, you’ll have over 100 hours of gameplay from this game. The only issue with this though, is side missions and collecting stuff. They can become quite repetitive and boring. Which is why I didn’t bother collecting 100% of the collectibles. The map is huge and openworld. There is practically no loading. Any loading it done with the use of in-game cutscenes where Eivor squeezes Through gaps in walls etc. But this is generally only when you enter caves and things. You almost literally traverse this scaled down version of England and all its villages and cities without anything needing to be loaded in. If there is, you won’t notice it. The only slight downside to the map, is it’s vastness. You’ll want to unlock ports and vantage points as soon as you get near them, so that you can fast travel later on. You only have a longship, a horse, or on-foot to get around. And going from one end of the map to the other takes an age otherwise. The longship can only be used on the sea or rivers too obviously, so there is direct line of travel. Your horse can swim though, so you don’t need to concern yourself with having to find bridges to cross rivers. In short, if you like a decent length game, decent storyline, fairly gruesome fighting and gorgeous graphics. Then go for it. Especially if it’s on sale.

Impressive game
As other reviewers have commented, this is an impressive game, good graphics and good game play. The main problem I have is it expects you (but doesn't tell you) to follow particular storey lines. I didn't do this with meant that some treasure finds were impossible to resolve. Frustrating!

Fantastic Viking based fun
I recently picked up Assassin's Creed Valhalla for my Xbox Series X and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed. The graphics are absolutely stunning, with the landscapes and cities of Norse-era England and Norway being brought to life in breathtaking detail. The combat is also top-notch, with a variety of weapons and abilities to choose from that make every battle feel unique and exciting. The story of Eivor, a Viking raider turned leader, is engaging and well-written, with plenty of twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat. The open-world gameplay is also a lot of fun, with plenty of side missions and activities to keep me busy for hours on end. Overall, I highly recommend Assassin's Creed Valhalla for anyone with an Xbox Series X. It's a fantastic game that is sure to keep you entertained for hours on end.

The dize of the map on its own is worth playing this game
The map is huge bigger than any other previous assins cread games ive played and ive played them all. The only thing i find different is that the scenery isnt as pretty as some of the other games but to keep it realitic to the roling hills of the british country side it cant be helped. Sometimes the response time to dodging and being hit by an apponant i feel is a little slow ive died a few times because of this but apart from that im still giving it a 5 out of 5. What a game one every gamer should have just tk experience the size of the map and experience the interesting and in depth story lines.

Stunning detail and epic ambience
Incredible detail: sunrises and lighting effects, ripples in rivers and rolling waves, Norse culture and history, music soundtrack, customisation, environment and building detail Epic bossfights - higher difficulties make general exploration and story more suspenseful but bossfights become impossible

It's a bada** game
I seriously had to buy Valhalla all because I've already played many assassin creed games ever since the first assassin's creed game came out on sale with that guy called Desmond in it... Brotherhood was a pretty good game also blackflag was a pretty good game as well. Origins and Odyssey took me some months to get through so I'll be getting through Valhalla for some months too. The graphics and background music are amazing as always... Ooh I'm going to enjoy this game lol. Thanks Amazon team all the very Best for 2023... 👍👌

It’s fun but I still prefer Ezio.
I’ve put a lot of hours into this game and overall I enjoy it. The gameplay is good and I like the RPG aspects that effect the story. However, I don’t like all the dialogue, there’s too much talking and I have little patience for it. I just don’t care enough to listen to long winded advice and explanations. There’s the usual treasure hunting, optional quests and artefacts to find which will increase XP and enable you to get more skills unlocked. I enjoy raids and like that the crew joins you, it’s chaotic but fun. I’m not really a fan of the direction Ubisoft has taken with Assassin’s Creed, my preference is for the earlier games, but this game has held my attention more than Odyssey did (which is one of the few games I ever gave up on). Once I’ve completed the story I doubt I’ll replay it to see the alternate ending. I just don’t care enough for the characters to go through it all again.
