This portable monitor feels like a premium product, much more so than others I have seen. The screen quality surpasses that of my 1-year-old Surface Laptop, and it seems very efficient—the Surface battery charges quickly when plugged in. The built-in stand and detachable cover are great features. The touch screen and sound quality are more than adequate. Two complaints:The brightness defaults to 15%, which is lower than I would like, and it is painfully slow to increase it.The charger (which I almost never use since I just charge from my laptop or docking station) is absurdly large and clunky.Overall, I am very happy with this product.

GREAT Add-On Screens! I Bought Two of the Touchscreen Models
I bought TWO - the first for an Apple MacBook Pro (M1); the second for an ASUS ZenBook Windows 10 computer.1. The Apple connection was easy - NOTE: you should plug the ViewSonic into a power source, then connect the ViewSonic to the MacBook Pro (M1). That way, the ViewSonic provides the sole power (initially to the ViewSonic and then through the USB-C PD cable to the MBP-M1 (make SURE you get a cable rated for 65W or above (I use a 100W cable and things work as expected)). Connecting this way is important as if frees up the second USB-C port on the MBP-1A for anything else you want to connect (I have a USB-C hub and four hard drives connected (this all at the same time as the ViewSonic is connected)).2. The ASUS took a bit more finagling - however, if you set the resolution correctly for the Mouse Screen, you can actually have all three screen available (ViewSonic, ASUS laptop screen and Mouse screen) at the same time. I have all my ViewSonic's positioned "above" my laptop screens.3. It is important to understand the screens are set to 50% on all settings when right out of the box. This initially makes the screen look washed out. HOWEVER - by simply access the built-in ViewSonic adjustment menu (available by pushing the button on the back of the screen), you can increase both the brightness and contrast to mimic your portable screen (if necessary). These two screens are awesome on the road - they are thin but sturdy and pack/travel well, easy to set up, and the touch screen works as advertised with the appropriate drivers downloaded and installed.I've even used them with an iPad Pro - and as with all things connected to an Apple computer - they simply work! Can you tell I really enjoy the versatility these monitor/screen give me?

Used for video games - N. Switch (primarily)
Note: I have NOT tried out the touch-screen functionality of the unit, nor have I tried it with multiple devices. So this review is based solely on my one intended use - video games. My life is very busy so I do not have the hours of time to invest in video games as I did when I was a younger man. My favorite console is the N. Switch, which I usually play in the evenings while watching TV in the background. As I’ve reached middle-age, my eyes aren’t what they used to be and I do wish the Switch’s screen was bigger and this is the solution I decided upon. There were cheaper alternatives from Chinese-branded companies but I wanted to stick with a brand I know and trusted (even though it was probably made there as well). The build quality is very good and the unit is solid. The menu has many visual adjustment options so I’m quite certain you’ll be able to optimize the view for your desired needs. It has built-in stereo speakers in the rear but I use always headphones. Btw, the headphone amplifier is much more powerful than the Switch’s.Note: This unit will NOT function as a touch-screen for the Switch but it is supposed to do so for PC. I’ve not tried it for an iPhone but there are adapters that will allow you to output the video of the iPhone/iPad to an external device so that might prove an interesting possibility! The device can be rotated 90* for a Portrait setup vs Landscape but again, that would be controlled by your PC, meaning, if I rotate the unit, it will not auto-rotate the source material like a smart phone will.It includes a magnetically-attached protective cover and the built-in “kickstand” is solid, very adjustable and highly functional. This is one of those purchases that made me say, “Oh man! I should have done this long ago!”It requires power. It does not have an internal battery. A USB-C adapter is included. It can also be powered by the video source (PC, phone, etc.) but that source must be able to provide a certain amount of watts, otherwise, the Display will lower the Brightness level to minimum.Negatives? The only two I can think of is that the menu structure, while well laid out, will take you a little time to get used to, and around the area of the menu button (bottom-right behind the screen) may cause an uneven backlighting effect due to the pressure involved in frequently accessing the menu - volume control for instance. However, 99% of the time, we never focus on an extreme corner of a display so even if it does develop an uneven lighting there, it will prove mostly unimportant in normal use.In short, if you think this might prove useful/helpful to you, I do not believe you’ll be disappointed and you may be VERY happy with this purchase as I am!

Excellent thin second monitor for office work
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this monitor. Excellent to toss in with your laptop in your laptop case.Pros:+ Incredibly thin, very compact+ Excellent build quality - metal backing, protective thin shield for screen+ Excellent touchscreen+ Can be powered from a host device USB-C. This works whether the host device is plugged in or operating on battery. When you can plug in the host device, that powers the ViewSonic monitor, as well.+ Lots of adjustments+ Even when brightness is turned down (to save battery on the host device), the screen is very readablee.+ Good resolution for very readable quality.+ Excellent multi angle kickstand is very solid and supports the entire monitor.+ Works well for Samsung DeX. The touchscreen really helps with this type of usa.Cons:- Speakers are thin and tinny.... better than nothing, but you might want to use headphones with the host device.- As others have observed, the colors are a bit on the dull side. There are lots of adjustments available through the monitor menu, so it can be tuned for what you need it for. Generally, this a very good office applications monitor and less of a multimedia monitor. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad at all for Netflix, etc.Overall, I think ViewSonic did a great job with this monitor and I highly recommend it for your road use.
