This item arrived broken but in it's original packaging. It's missing the drawer dividers (the dried glue is visible where the pieces should be), there is a crack in the wood near the one side hinge where the screw went in and the metal clasps on the drawer are both VERY flimsy, arrived bent and don't line up with the opposite end clasps. The top part of the drawer is very splintery and rough. I wasn't expecting it to be unfinished wood but that's not a big deal. I can stain it or paint it if I decide it's worth doing.A positive is that the handle on the side has pretty nice hardware that seems sturdy but the negative for this is that the vinyl is very thin and is already cracked a bit in the center. There is also a mystery clay-like goo on it. The top easel part is decent too. The wood is put together well on that part. No cracks, sturdy and no splinters. The hinges for this part are all straight and attached well. It seems like the easel and drawer parts are put together by different people or the person making it got tired halfway through making it so half-assed finishing it.There are other sellers on Amazon who have, what looks to be, the exact same easel but for about $5 to $10+ more than this seller has it for (I paid $10.97). The actual design is a good size for a tabletop easel and I decided it's decent enough to keep and would be more of a hassle to return it based on the price. I think I can fix the clasps by putting on new ones from the hardware store. I'm sure I can get some use out of this and hopefully it doesn't fall apart too soon. In the meantime I will keep a lookout for other easels to replace this one.

This portable easel is perfect for the few things I like to take with me in case I get inspired while I'm out. It's lightweight but sturdy and my art supplies fit nicely in the organized spaces. I didn't like the position of the handle though so I removed it and screwed it on the side where the drawer opens.I'm not sure if this easel will work for someone that needs to carry heavy things or a lot of items or someone that may handle this product roughly. I do not handle this product with extra delicate care but I don't handle it real rough either. Just the average use and it's fine. Also, it's well worth the price.Update - August 2018:I'm working on a drawing on a 26" x 23" portable art board and it slides off this easel so I got some plastic nuts and bolts (i think that's what they're called) and drilled holes on the part that holds the board in place & put them in it. It holds the board in place now and I'm able to continue drawing. For portability, I just put the bolts in the drawer of this portable easel & go.As a side note: I'm working on a pastel drawing and I am very light handed with my strokes and blending. I don't think this will work for large artwork using heavy handed strokes and pressure.

This art desk is perfect! It was shipped safely and well packaged, arrived exactly on the day it was supposed to, and I went over it with a fine tooth comb to see if it had any little problems that might need to be addressed, because I am giving this as a gift. I wanted it to be perfect--and it is!!! It is very well made, with latches that will latch and hold without being so tight one needs a screw driver to pry them up, and a securely attached handle. The drawer is tight, but well-made tight, not "gyah won't open" tight. I am going to rub a dry parafin block on the sides of the drawer, so it won't stick, but like that it is not going to fall open. All in all, I want one of these for myself! It would be perfect for a desktop, a lap, a lapdesk, soooo many ways to use this! The only thing I might do is give it a clear coat of lacquer, as it is unfinished wood, but very well made. The free paint palette is also really good sized! Very well made! I am going to get this desk for myself for Christmas! I will not hesitate to order from this seller again!

I had seen one of these in Blicks the last time I was there and wanted a cheaper version to see if I could even like it. I saw that some users had complained about pieces of wood and splinters but I didn't have any real issues. The strap to carry it is fairly sturdy on mine. This could also be easily stained if you wished.The easel is easy to position though may not be great for larger canvases. Please measure before buying just in case it won't fit for you! I liked the storage drawer but I wish it was just an inch or two deeper.Good item for a small price.

This is a pretty impressive little easle/art desk. I love how it has the drawer with space for my various supplies. The free wooden palette is a nice addition. While the unit is solid wood and appears to be pretty well made, it does feel kind of light. Also, the kickstand that holds up the easel feels rather flimsy. However, I wasn't really expecting it to feel like mahogany, with what I paid for it. I do wish there was some way to keep the easel lip closed while carrying. Although I don't carry mine I would imagine that would be something I would want in place if I did. It's a great easel/ark desk to start with. As I start expanding my craft I am certain to get something a bit bigger and more sturdy.

I bought several of these for my grandchildren and one for myself. I decorated them with stones from the dollar store to pretty them up. They are very nice, I love that you can carry it wherever you go and that it has the easel. Definitely would recommend for young or old that has a passion for drawing or painting. You don't need to have a big space or stand while doing it like with a regular easel and the little pull out drawer stores your supplies and even a drawing pad. i really liked these

I bought one of these to hold paper and did not realize it can't so my hubby cut a thin piece of craft wood and now we have a holder for paper and for canvas so my youngest daughter at 8 uses and my 20 year old uses for canvases. This is portable and has a drawer for storing items you need or use a lot of so far for the price the quiality and the fast shipping, I am super impressed and even more so that is can be used for both my artists. although i do see another order soon as they do argue over who gets it ad when! LOL
