No regrets
We purchased two for our twins- it’s a good price point for a smart bassinet with so many features so this was affordable to us compared to some other that are on the market that we out of our price range especially since we were looking to buy two. I absolutely loved them and we used them right up to weight limit since our boys were rolling over or pulling themselves up yet. One got a little squeaky but that usually happened when we put it on high right away and the baby was closer to the weight limit. It’s been a few months without use and I pulled it in again and it’s not squeaky anymore. We also purchased the basket to go underneath which was handy for storage and makes good use of the wide base space. Overall I’m happy with the 4moms products for their sturdiness, quality and innovation

A list of issues to know before purchasing
ETA: after 2 months of use, the bassinet is now squeaking so loudly it wakes our baby up. There seems to be no way to fix it so we have to use it off, so $500 down the drain! Original review: We're travelling for an extended period with our LO and so purchased this bassinet. We also own the pack and play which we love but the similarities stop there. We own the Snoo and I'll just start here by saying it 100% worth the money and definitely our preference. Please excuse any brevities or typos I'm a FTM typing this while my LO sleeps. After one month of use, the mamaroo bassinet squeaks, malfunctions, glitches both manually and on the app. I'm also so disappointed to see that the sheet that comes with this doesn't attach to the Velcro?? I picked up baby girl this morning and the sides of the mattress were completely lifting which is insane and almost exposed her to the hardware underneath. I only know this because the other sheets I purchased have the Velcro strip which attaches safely to the base and keeps the mattress in place. If your baby moves like mine (which pretty much every swaddled baby does) then you May end up having to retire the sheet that comes with the bassinet. Please note that she only lightly wriggled for about 2 minutes max until I went to pick her up and noticed that. That's the reason I'm writing this, but back to the glitches. Don't even try and increase or decrease levels. The touch pad on the device glitches constantly all over - even the on and off button. Just this morning I "fought" with it while trying to soothe baby girl, which makes maybe time #20th and we only use it at nights. I have to constantly restart the app to get it to apply any of my settings. The app I can understand, but when the device itself doesn't respond, that's very unfortunate. I would advice if you still go ahead and purchase this that you should try and turn it on first before putting your baby in. That initial start jolt is enough to (and has) wake up them up after even a nice and elaborate wind down routine. We have to try and hover and time it to place her down gently. Also note that it shuts off after 4 hours and there's nothing you can do save and except to turn it off and on (if the app even responds) to restart those 4 hours. I understand why the feature exists but I do not like that I don't get a choice. It gets 3 stars because it is safe at the end of the day, a compact enough size and I like that the sides are mesh so I'm never afraid that if she rolls to the sides that anything will happen. It also means I can stay from the bed and see if she's stirring. Since we haven't tried and gotten a new bassinet it's obviously still satisfying our base needs for now but for the price the list of issues is very disappointing.

A major win!
Omg I’m so glad we bought this thing. It’s been night and day for keeping baby asleep when putting her in her bassinet. Among the common complaints: • It’s true that the physical buttons suck. Now I got the hang of it (press hard near the middle), but there’s no excuse for physical buttons not to work on a device that is this expensive. Thankfully it doesn’t matter because… • … the app had been working perfectly for us. The only thing is that we take shifts and it will only allow one phone at a time, so we have to remember to kill the app for the other person’s phone to connect to it. Which is quite alright, and past that the app works pretty much flawlessly. • No screeching or loud clicking so far (there’s the occasional subtle clicking, which then goes away). I understand the people who are annoyed that they got that, I’d feel the same way. I would totally open it up and fix it the way those countless YouTube videos instruct to, but I’m pretty glad I haven’t had to… so far! We turn it on when baby fell asleep and we want her to stay asleep, but we always put it on a reasonable timer, often around 20 minutes, so she keeps being comfortable on static surfaces. After that, she stays asleep and sleeps for hours. I snapped and impulse-bought this when she turned 2 weeks old, and it’s a significant amount of money, but I’m very glad I spent it!

Super convenient purchase for newborn
After researching for a bassinet that could have both movement and sound for baby, I found this MamaRoo Sleep bassinet. I knew this brand could be trusted as I already had one of their rockers. It is extremely easy to assemble and even comes with extra support legs to add for a higher height. Baby sleeps peacefully as the bassinet moves effortlessly and sounds play. It is a bit heavy yet I have no problem pulling it into another room. I love the appearance of the bassinet as it goes with the feng shui of the room. There are a couple of things I would like to mention that I am not a fan of. The mattress that comes with the bassinet is so thin and flimsy. It is as if baby is sleeping on the hard under board of the bassinet. I did purchase a mattress pad to fit with covers. It works great! Another thing is, purchase this when the baby is a newborn and you will received value for the money. I am grateful as I do have many more restful nights because of this, except now baby is almost 6 months old and very very long that she will not be able to use it for much longer. Other than the thin mattress and not purchasing it sooner, this is a great bassinet to use for baby to experience the motion throughout the night. (I never downloaded the app and it continues to rock all night as well as play the sounds by just manually touching the buttons//also the lights are quite bright coming from the controls so you may need to cover them)

Spend the money and get more sleep
We bought this as an impulse 3am purchase. Our three week old went from sleeping 1.5 stretches at night to 2.5/3 hour stretches once we started using this bassinet. Now that our baby is older and sleeping longer stretches, it’s annoying that it turns off after 4 hours. To avoid it turning off, I grab my phone during the night and use the app to add more time to the timer before the 4 hours run out. Expensive product, but well worth it for the extra sleep you’ll get!

Not for us
This bassinet did not end up working for my baby. She wants to be held, and she can tell the difference between my rocking and this bassinet’s rocking. Every baby is different, so that is no fault of the bassinet. It seems to be very high quality. Although it didn’t work for us here are some more objective pros and cons I noticed about it: Pros - the Bluetooth app. I personally chose this bassinet over other smart ones because I wanted to be able to select the features myself instead of the bassinet responding to my baby on its own. The “find your roo” feature in the app is a great idea. I also like that you can set a timer. It’s a good size. Easy to keep by the bed and not too big or bulky. Easy to assemble. Took just a few minutes. Cons - the motion is not very quiet. This does make noticeable noise while it’s in motion. It can be even louder than the sound machine. I noticed it while trying to sleep. Not ideal. The light on the buttons is very very bright. I get that you need to be able to find the buttons in the dark, but they’re very bright and can make it hard to sleep when you’re trying to sleep next to it. The buttons are pretty unresponsive. It usually takes more than one tap to any button for it to actually register. The most important thing I noticed - All the motions are more or less the same. I thought it was going to be a big advantage to have 5 different motion settings but to me they are all too similar. I didn’t see a significant difference between any of them. So ask yourself would you still pay this much for only one motion? Overall this may work for you but it’s really up to your baby because every baby is so different. Just because you are desperate for sleep doesn’t mean you have to break the bank for something that may or may not work.
