The Cult Classic Game Beautifully Remade & Reimagined
Nier Replicant Ver.1.22474487139... is a partial remake of the previously Japanese exclusive Replicant version of the cult classic Nier that besides having its combat overhauled to play closer to its sequel Nier Automata, improved performance and visuals is a faithful remake of the original now fully translated & voiced in english. While the improved combat is fun, the main reason your be playing this game is its fantastic narrative with its weird but wonderful cast.

Wonderful game
The first Nier game I ever played was Automata on PS4 and I loved it but didn't play through more than once, I think I should have, having played through all endings on this game I might go back and re try. Some of the trophies were too difficult for me to get but I thoroughly enjoyed the game.

One of my hated and loved games
If it were possible to give a product double the stars, i would give this one both 1 star and 5 stars. The reason for this is that i both hate and love this game. What i hate about the game is that there is way too much reading in a specific part of the game, which i really disliked. What i love about the game is that it takes place in a distant world where robots have taken over the planet. That is something i really love.

Played automata?? Buy this now. Otherwise play the slightly superior automata first
After being amazed by nier automata, i eagerly awaited this gestalt remake after the announcement was made (note, you do not need to have played automata to play this, though there is one story detail in replicant that could give away a twist in automata)Story of a boy in a post apocalyptic world, trying to save his sister from a black scrawl disease, in a world full of shadowy monsters called shades. Along the way you'll find many revelations.Combat is alright (light attack, heavy attack, dodge, block/parry, speels assignable to shoulder buttons but you'll always stick with the gun like spell). aAutomata was more polished. If you ever played the original nier, the combat has changed to more closely resemble that of automataMap size. Actually isn't that big, similar to automata, you can't really get lost as it doesn't feel open world. It's just rightGraphics, for the most part beautiful and smooth, plenty of effects. Note that automata had done amazing perspective shifting segments, replicant had this but nowhere near as much or greatMusic - on parr with automata, award winning compositions that could be worthy of their own concert like with automataCharacters and story - wanna be depressed? this is the game for you, each time you progress, you seem to come across something new to make you miserable, and when you play through a second time there'll be new cut scenes and translations that will make you rethink done events from the first playthrough and make you feel worse. Now they're are 5 potential endings and it's worth getting to ending D just to see a game force you to do something you've never had to do before (unless you've played automata in which case you'll be tabular with this sacrificial trickery). All story and emotion done in a quality way with great voice acting. Also..... Kaines swearing in the game is the stuff of legends. Not too keen on a few extra long text based stories you have to scroll through (send to be on later playthroughs, not the first)Big downer on this game, the side quests. Firstly, understand that the game is in 2 halves, and any side quests you don't complete in the first half, you won't get a chance to do again easily. Second, most quests involve lots of back and forthing. It's horribly time consuming with little reward reward from money. The best side quests have a little sting in the tale. If you want trophies, you will have to bother with stuff like fishing, upgrading ALL weapons (grinding required). Please play this game, but automata is the better game overall so play that first to see if you'll like this

Stunning
Finally a new PS4 game worth playing! The visuals and gameplay are stunning, and the early plot twists and turns will be a treat for new players and quite a revelation for Nier veterans like myself. Short of an early GTA release this is already my game of the year!

Perfect edition
A perfect edition to my game collection I’ve only played about 30 minutes of gameplay and I’m already excited to see how the game ends. Would definitely recommend.
