Hefty ECOSAVE Compostable 5-Compartment Paper Trays, 12 Count

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about these. I used them for Thanksgiving dinner, they were perfect! Everyone commented on them as well. Much more sturdier than the styrofoam. Worth the price, and eco-friendly!

I really like these plates because of the compartments so my food does not run together. It holds up well and in the microwave ok.

We used these over thanksgiving to substitute for the paper compartment/platter plates from Chinet/Dixie which were out of stock EVERYWHERE this thanksgiving.I try not to use foam anything, especially dinnerware, so that wasn't an option and we were having turkey, ham, homemade (aka heavy) Mac-n-cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet potato, pea salad, etc etc etc. So we needed two things: compartments and strength. We also didn't want to contribute any indestructible waste with foam plates. These delivered on all fronts.As for the eco-friendly side of it. The trays indicate they are made from compostable product, which is a requirement for us when using reusable/normal plates isn't an option. I was quite happy to find these.Durability/strength: we had about 15 people over of varying ages and no spills, cracks, breaks or mishaps with these plates. They are thick and feel like a hybrid paper plate. A few teenage boys from 13-19 were here and filled their plates to Dr Seuss heights and the plates held up nicely.The only gut check was the price but it's to be expected for eco-friendly foam alternatives, so it's only a concern for those low on funds or who will have an even larger gathering.I would recommend these to anyone, even over the Chinet/dixie paper compartment plates as long as you're okay spending a couple bucks more. I kept these along with simple $0.99 8-in paper plates that way these big dollar plates could be used for the main event and any additional snacking, desserts, food for the next day(s) would be on the cheap plates.For this upcoming Christmas with round two of family holidays, I'm ordering more of these for sure.

I like that they are compostable but they are very small and won't hold much food.

These trays are nicer than I expected. They are paper, but the top is covered with something that makes them soak-resistant. They feel very sturdy, and they don't bend easily. During the pandemic, we began doing takeouts instead of eating inside the restaurant. We eat the takeout food in the car. I have used this brand and style plate a number of times over the years... especially for holiday gatherings. The last two times I purchased them, I noticed they are definitely not as sturdy as they used to be. We had to double the plates to keep them from bending and dumping all the food out. Will try a different brand in the future.
