Classic arena rock delay!
Wow! I absolutely love this pedal. Very reminiscent of 70s concert Rock. My favorite delay pedal ever. I would definitely say it’s like having an echoplex that actually works. Probably better suited for the traditional guitarist. You would want something more digital for new metal of something more current. But if you’re looking for Zeppelin or Rush tones definitely try this one. Overall quality if top notch like all Catlinbread pedals. Takes a bit of tweaking to get used to.

Sounds great!
Lifted up just the right frequencies without the booming low end of the Xotic EP Booster. The preamp sounds the same up to the noon position. After that it starts aaccentuating different tones. The boost knob adds boost! Hard to turn it off. Sounds great for both clean and overdriven channels!

Sounds Cool But...
So the magic of the old echoplex preamp...it’s essentially a compressor/eq over which you have limited control. I honestly don’t feel like there’s anything special here that you couldn’t get from pedals that you might already own. It certainly imparts its own sound and you might like it or you might not. To my ears it really brought out a bold character in the overall sound with an emphasis on the lows and low mids but that’s really only with respect to what sounded best to me as I played around with the settings. I played around with this enough to find some settings that I might use on a clean channel to smooth out and fatten up a bright guitar but ultimately I would say that there are other pedals you might want to prioritize over this one because the settings are somewhat limited and it’s a bit on the expensive side for a boost. That being said, the sound quality is top notch, the build quality is fantastic and even the packaging is cool. It’s a great pedal. I just can’t say that it’s a “must have”. I bought it as a curiosity (and because I had some gift card balance burning a virtual hole in my e-wallet) and I will keep it but I will likely use it only sparingly.

Great delay pedal
Excellent delay pedal. Watch Howard’s (the Catalinbread designer) videos on this pedal to get the most out of it, it’s a 5 part series on utube.
