Super effective and versatile. Curiously, it seems like it might not work until you get a nut in there. Great experience with big walnuts down to small hazelnuts. Very nice to collect the shells in the pan.

I love a few things about this nut cracker.First, unlike the plier type (or actual pliers), it is almost impossible to use this device to injure yourself. The jaw does not close all the way; it's designed to close only to the extent required to crack a nut shell.Second, it has enough power that a child can use it. Santa delivered this to our home so that our son could enjoy nuts straight out of their shells, and he does enjoy them (this was the year we decided Santa was switching from candy to fruit and nuts, and it's a parent win).Third, that beautiful steel tray that is the base of the machine catches shells. You can also fill it with nuts if you want the thing as a centerpiece or something along those lines.I know there are much nicer, more expensive nut crackers on the market, but this thing will more than do the job. We recommend it.

Doesn't work

This has worked great and I love the design. The only problem is that is has a loud squeak with the teflon rollers.

The media could not be loaded. It is terrible. It will not crack Small nuts 🌰 or almonds . When it does crack a walnut or pecan the shells fly everywhere.! Be sure to do this outside. When I use it with my walnuts and pecans, I covered it up with a towel so the shells won’t fly all over the room when I’m inside.

My wife and I have known shelled nuts are way more tasty and fresher than unshelled nuts, but just because of the annoyance of breaking the nut shell, we've had to choose unshelled nuts so far. This product is a game changer! It takes some time to learn how to use this device wisely (for example cracking hazelnuts is better with covering the top with your unused hand to prevent broken shells flying all over the place) though. It is joyful that my wife and I enjoy fresh coffee and fresh nuts every morning! It works for brazilian nuts, hazelnuts, and walnuts. Of course you don't need a nut cracker for peanuts and cashew nuts. At first, it took me about 10 seconds to crack each nut, but now I can crack about 5 nuts in 10 seconds now. This device is very safe so no matter how fast or hard you do it, you won't get a pinch or any kind of injury.

Works good i would be super happy, but came brand new with heavily rusty screws and nuts.
