Bought it for my grandson for his birthday, great item for kids.

I bought this fishing pole set for my Grandsons 6th birthday. His favorite color is blue so it was already a big hit before it even got close to any water. The only reason i did not give it 5 stars is because it did not come with any instructions at all. It would have been nice to have him learn how to set the drag, and what all the different Lures are for. Some of the included items i have never seen before myself and don’t know what they are called or what to do with them, so i cant even look them up. Also, my son and i are a little concerned when collapsing it as we are afraid we might break or bend it since we tried to make sure it was tight when we opened it so it would work well. We just make sure we take our time and are careful.That being said we all think it is a nice pole, it casts easily and smoothly even the 6 year old can get it way out into the lake. We’ve been fishing with it twice this summer and caught numerous fish both times, the first one a nice 13” bass. Another plus its the only pole we don’t have trouble getting into the car!!!!

I really liked that the kit came complete for my 8 year old grandson to have for a fishing derby the day after I got it. Nice case to carry everything, several pieces of tackle with hooks, bobbers, etc...telescopic pole worked great, while setting up the night before all looked good to go. My son helped him cast out the very first time and the reel exploded into a tangled mess of fishing line and plastic. Several pieces fell in the water and were not retrievable, so unable to return for a replacement. I didn't give 1 star, as I'm hoping this reel was an anomaly and all the rest was just as described and working properly. Ordered a 2-pack of the same brand for the other 2 grandsons (only in their age bracket) and theirs worked well. Still hoping the company will make it right for me.
